Nothing will bring back the magic there used to be when I first opened my brand new Zelda game I got for Christmas, and the excitement I felt as I started the game to wander around the world of ocarina of time.

They added a metric butt-ton of bloom, and they went for a realistic shading system which, in my opinion, doesn't really work with the style of the existing models.

That being said, it's one of my favorite games in the series, and I'm excited to play through it with the new features.

I think i posted this on natf2 forums a long while back...but if you have a decent PC with a good video card (anything above a 460gtx), download the Dolphin emulator (wii/Gamecube). You can already play all the games in 1080p and add AA/AF...games look and play amazing.

I'm really tempted to download dolphin so I can play Sunshine in glorious HD

it's totally worth it...it was like playing how it was meant to be played. You need a pretty decent rig to play everything maxed out. I think when i first downloaded it, i had a 295 GTX and was able to get around 30-50fps @1080p with maxed out AA and AF. I upgraded to a 680 GTX last year and now i can play with everything maxed and never drop below 100FPS.

I'd say skyward sword and galaxy are the two games you have to see in HD...they look like entirely brand new games.

Nintendo builds off franchises, this is nothing new

as much as I enjoyed wind waker, HD stuff is still a dumb gimmick

Even more so when you have the cartoony feel of the wind waker graphics

The original art style is what made Windwaker what it was IMO. It looks nice but I don't think the HD version can compare

Windwaker is my favorite Zelda, so this news is pretty fucking awesome, I know what I'll be playing when I go back to my parents' and my brother's Wii U.

windwaker already looked amazing
i think an hd remix is okay because if you really wanted to play windwaker, you could just easily play it on gamecube/an emulator

yeah i agree, i just wish nintendo would try to come up with something a little more creative for their games instead of just rereleasing a game they've already made

I'm pretty sure a complete aesthetic overhaul is anything but a "quick" cash-in. With Pokemon remakes, it's less debatable. But it's pretty damn annoying and lazy to shout "LACK OF IDEAS" at every remake.

On the graphics looking "off," I actually prefer the new shading. But I have a soft spot for, well, soft aesthetics.

I didn't see an official spokesperson actually call the game HD, correct me if this is not the case.

I'm not sure what sort of super-duper textures you're expecting out of flat coloring (it's the shadows that add depth and interest).

There arent even really textures, the game is cell shaded. thats why it still looks great on emulators even at high resolutions.
