so whats the status of IM this season? idk why ur getting mad us for wanting to offclass in open. once you realize this game is 100% more fun playing 1-3 nights a week with friends instead of 5 youll understand.

if any team needs someone to play on their team for a bit/join their roster/pay fees or anything to save tf2 i'm down

Losing IM will be a tough hit to take for competitive TF2. It will not kill the game or anything but it will be a massive step backwards. I have been through this type of thing several times in the past and it has rarely turned into a positive.

I don't like sandbagging in a lot of ways, but no one should be made to feel like they have to play just to keep a division alive if they don't genuinely want to on some level. That's not sustainable. It'll burn them out. Some people like taking on a responsibility to the community, and that's great, but others are just here to have fun or just want to take a little break from trying hard. Where else can you get the TF2 team experience if you don't want to try hard or sandbag open?

Edit: where can you do that if you're not better than everyone in IM?

I dont mind having sandbaggers play open and there isn't anything wrong with it. I played against mason's team in my first season and I learned a bit from it. I've scrimmed against pugscrim teams and invite players offclassing and meming before and it doesn't bother me. It's open and people are OPEN to do what they like.

However my issue is that not having IM will make it less fun for people entering in the game and getting a larger playerbase, and I at least want to keep playing this game with as many players around.

At the end of the day nobody on tftv can force you to go play in IM but it would be nice just to do it for the sake of the community.

yes it is good if people play im to save esea im and esea tf2

but u cannot expect people to have this sense of morality and play in a higher division that they don't want to because "it's good for the community" like as overall better it would be u have to realize maybe they don't want to play im and they might kill their team bc they don't want to play which gets u back to square 1 lol

wrech's team playing open when they could offclass and place in IM is dumb yea but the much bigger problem is the fact that 80% of open moveup teams die. That's why the roster hijack rules exist, to incentivize people to keep their teams together in the off season.

see my post #125 I didnt ask how IM was doing this season just for fun, i was asking because i want to know the status/fate of the division. of course we would play IM if absolutely zero teams would take the initiative, im not some sort of savage to watch IM die. but on the other hand, in my years playing, most open teams/players wanted the chance to play IM so badly, and ive certainly never seen admins begging people to play IM and invite. maybe this is more of a warning sign to us that people are losing interest in esea. minus frag me for my opinion but you're a fool if you dont notice things changing.

ok im gonna preface this with saying that i've never talked to wrech ever so i dont know what kind of person he is but im pretty sure a reason he isn't playing im is that he doesn't want to put into the work into scrimming etc

like yes maybe he could place with offclassing but maybe that also takes effort that he doesn't want to put forth and spending the effort would lead to him not liking tf2 and killing the team
