okay like the title says what do you guys think is the fastest way to improve.
i know dm and mge is probably gonna be the most mentioned one but i already do both of them for like 5 hours a day.
Edit : Fastest way to improve as Scout and Soldier

Just learning to aim and basic mechanics? DM and MGE
Learning how to actually play the game? Get a team
I personally would've ranked myself a low open roamer like 2 months ago, and since then i've played lots and lots of pugchamps, learning a lot from the better players there, friends, and mentors. Overall I have just watched lots of POV's, played and learned from lots of pugchamps, and played on teams.

I would play a lot pug champs but then theirs retards like ---------- who tell me to uninstall the game and just in general toxic in mumble whether its to me or someone else

do they say that if you make a mistake, or are they just being toxic in general?
if they do the former, ask them what you did wrong so you can improve.
Scented candles, aromatherapy, and tension relieving massages.
Also playing the game helps. It helps a lot.
sibbyowlcometdo they say that if you make a mistake, or are they just being toxic in general?
General
definitely dont play lobbies for 3000 hours bc trust me youll still be low open 3 years later
i'd say it was easier to get better a couple years ago because a lot of higher level players streamed and would explain stuff sometimes but i would recommend
get mechanics down, whether it be mge or dm
pug a lot
watch demos and try to understand why people make the decisions they do
Re4litysibbyowlcometdo they say that if you make a mistake, or are they just being toxic in general?
General
Toxic people will be that way no matter what. So don't get too irritated by them. I know it's easier said than done but a simple local mute in mumble goes a LONG way.
Always pushing yourself to perform at your best, playing smart, and learning from the mistakes that you make will help you so much in the long run. Even if you're kind of at a "plateau" point where you're trying and not exactly getting better, seeking advice from someone that knows the ins and outs extremely well (you could ask any higher level player at the end of a pugchamp game for example) and that can help you to diagnose what you're not doing very well and work on it.
GUARANTEED IMPROVEMENT OVERALL: Matches>Scrims>Pugs
DM-wise:
mge if you play aggro and work on pure mechanics over winning
dm
newbots
Brain: watching better players stream games where they play or watch themselves
watching POVs of your stuff (insanely better when you have someone better than u to watch it with)
watching youtube videos of invite players explaining stuff
playing the beam more than being aggro and botting in is also a plus
Pubs have been helping me de-rust my aim after not playing for a week here and there sometimes.
Demo reviews. Can't be stressed enough. Watching smart players analyse demos or analyzing your own demos will provide a good basis for understanding good decision making. Watch for mistakes and work on them. Play (or at least watch good players play) all the classes so you can understand the roles of each class better.
As far as mechanics goes, don't go straight to grinding mge and dm for hours on end. Think about weaknesses in your mechanics and what you need to do to practice and work on them. Think about your strengths and think about how you can practice and refine them.
When you get to a point where you have a good understanding of how the game is played on many levels and how the mechanics within the game interact with each other, you can form a style of play that works for your strengths and limits your weaknesses. At this point, you can be a good gamer.
At least on scout you don't have to play pugs at all to improve.
The best thing you can do to improve your DM is just grind mge out with 1 person regularly. Get some nigga you're boys with (but preferably not a teammate) that plays the opposite of whatever you do (so if you play soldier find a scout and vice versa), and just grind until you both get to 300 kills after scrims or something. The idea is you pick someone you know so that neither of you have an incentive to win, and only to improve your own aim and each other's aim.
I'm not going to endorse grinding DM because you'll either pick up bad habits or pull all your hair out seeing every other player's bad habits. If you do play it, use common sense on what good practice is. Don't press +back as scout. Don't projectile jump. Don't pick up health packs. If you need to be told not to use the gunboats it's already too late for you.
The fastest way to improve gamesense is just playing with smarter players. Things can be said about self review and critiquing yourself every time you die, especially on classes like scout or medic I guess. But at the end of the day better players react faster - the best way to gain that is simply to play on teams where players react to stimuli faster and obtaining it via first hand observation.
tr_newbots is a hoax perpetuated by arctic joe.
"i know dm and mge is probably gonna be the most mentioned one but i already do both of them for like 5 hours a day."
im not sure if you mean over the course of the day you are playing that much or if your sessions are that long so I may be wrong here but if you are having sessions that are 2+ hours long you probably arent focusing enough
you might be different but I know after around 1-2 hours depending on how much im focusing of DM or mge id be mentally spent and like ive said we may be different but if you are playing/practicing for 3-4 hours at a time imo you could cut that down quite a bit and just try to focus more intensely
im not saying shut off your music (I would actually die irl if I had to mge or dm without my music) but spend some more time thinking about each shot making each and every one as efficient as possible (mid range 50s and 60s instead of 20s) and focusing on ammo management or making sure you dont eat that direct from across the map or below you
technically speaking, buying a 120 hz monitor and/or a graphics card/cpu capable of giving u stable/good fps is the fastest way to improve
not the best way to improve, just the fastest h3h
in regards to dm, cheesy's and ringo's posts are the best.

why is a teammate not recommended?
everything said here is great advice, and I would also recommend jump maps to get a good feel for movement techniques and movement in general. It helped me get better at not only soldier, but other classes too.
alderwhy is a teammate not recommended?
you may start to formulate opinions about your teammate that have nothing to do with what they are doing in-game
MGEing your scout partner in particular is a recipe for disaster
