Headphone suggestions?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a good pair of headphones.

I plan to use them for anything and everything attached to my computer. Gaming, music, movies, etc. Pretty good sound quality for music is a must. I'll be attaching a modmic to them, so I'd prefer one with no built in mic. Any suggestions?

edit: budget around $100 usd. If I can't get a decent pair for that I'll go above it, just a ballpark estimate. ty saam
edit 2: I'd prefer open backed, over ear headphones. I listen to electronic music, plus a lot of classic rock and some alternative. I don't care whether it has a detachable cable or not

edit - the sony 7506's that disengage are really good as well, but I'm fairly confident in saying that the SHP9500 and the M40x are the best you can get <$100

Here's a few I have saved that I've heard were solid:
Sony MDR7506
Sennheiser HD 558
AKG K 240
Grado SR80e

These are pretty old suggestions, so I'm sure there's newer, better ones out there.

Vipersennheiser hd 598 or 558 are really good for their prices

I have the 558s and they're incredible. Definitely need to get an amp for them though or else you won't be able to hear some of the lower frequencies. I got mine when they were on sale on amazon for $90.

I agree. Managed to get my HD598s for $98 during last year's black friday sale on Amazon. I think there'd be a similar sale this year, so I'd recommend waiting for it! :)

I preferred the Philips SHP9500 over the HD598, my 2 cents

Edit - they're both pretty flat in terms of sound, and build quality is similar
