I don't see why this makes you angry, should be used to the left by now.

THEBILLDOZERtonyswedeyi'm not offended; I know i'm a troll. I'm not even denying that
nothing you say matters. your reputation exceeded your intentions. you are now wasting whatever resources this site uses to run. Many players have asked your questions with far more genuine curiosity than you hold, and they have gotten realistic and accurate answers. you do not deserve them.
thanks for that, that's all i needed to hear.

I don't support the violent side of the protests (which is far from the majority of people), but the notion that we can't possibly start predicting what a Donald Trump presidency will look like is stupid
we have:
1. statements that he has made throughout his candidacy
2. his 100 day plan
3. early leaks about his likely cabinet
this obviously still requires a level of educated guessing, but I think it's a good thing to understand some of the potential worst case scenarios and call Trump out on them so he backs off at least a little bit

on topic: it really ~~GRINDS MY GEARS~~ that so many people refuse to play against demos in mge
funnily, I've only had this problem with mgelords who never play comp at a high level, and not with invite players
almost like the invite players understand demoman is a class in the game that u have to play against sometimes. . .

Playing against a demo in MGE can be insanely frustrating, it's no one's fault and no one should be expected to play it.

I get really frustrated with my internet, routinely having ~400+ ping no matter what server I play on.
and the best part is I can't get better internet because of where I live.

i try not to get mad on mge/dm/pubs but i still get mad bc i got this "look at his name/how he plays im better than him and i shouldnt be dying to this player" ego and i want it to stop so bad

i can't help but to care so much about others and what my actions have on them but i feel like no one cares for me in return
despite having made a lot of friends in the community i don't really have a circlejerk to fuck around in which leads to me feeling pretty lonely
also my team is pulling a westbrook effect

if you view MGE as an end within itself rather than a means to an end (improvement), this makes sense
if u care about getting better, especially if u main scout, suck it up and mge demos to get better movement

Don't get me wrong, I love tf2, but I honestly hate the competitive community. A lot of people are mean and ugly to each other. Hardly anyone treats other people like people should be treated. I think part of the reason comp is dying is because of how toxic the players are, and instead of trying to fix it, people just continue to spew hate at each other and wonder why no one plays this game. It's sad to see a community tear its self apart like this. Why can't we just play games and have fun? :(

idk man it got to the point where literally every pug i played was either full of salty (man)children or had a guy talking about how shit the team was, even if we were winning. every game turned sour at some point unless I was scrimming, and if you try tell someone to stop being an asshole you get the whole "lmao its just a pug/mix/lobby dont take it so seriously" bullshit. there's plenty of toxicity making its way around tf.tv too. see: the incredible amount of hate on the election thread. watching people bitch and moan about the sigafoo cup rather than just ignoring it. same thing for swedey on this thread; why did everyone need to keep posting about how stupid he is and writing fucking essays about him instead of ignoring him or just going "okay ur all good, stop posting plz."
sure theres plenty of good dudes. good dudes might even be the majority. but theres enough douchebags hanging around that it's not worth

Literally every other competitive comunity i have dabbled in was more toxic than TF2's.

comp tf2 has one of the nicer communities and if you're finding it toxic then you're just hanging with the wrong people

TF2 is one of the absolute worst communities in terms of the quality between private circlejerks and larger communities. I've played some really obscure games with a small amount of players, so obviously they'd cling to any newcomers.
Here? Every second post is either a (albeit usually applicable and worth a chuckle) meme, a big name saying something "funny" being upfragged or a nobody giving a skeptical opinion in the minus 20.
By far the best experiences I've had with TF2 were behind closed doors with the same 5 people I've played with for ages. The issue is getting there for anyone new, or anyone who currently feels at loss with the community. Outside semi-exclusive newbie initiatives I don't see how the situation would improve anytime soon if you're not the type to instantly drop into a trial.
I can understand people both liking and hating the TF2 community, but that's probably related to either visiting forums or meeting and chatting with individual people.

But cs has a much bigger community than tf2. Cs has actual incentives to keep dealing with assholes, all we have is like paying $100 to get into invite and probably not winning a prize pool, or like going to an iseries LAN and using the winnings to pay for the flight and hotel. We can't really afford to be as toxic as we are.

the most toxic players are the people who internalize criticism and stop trying/talking therefore ruining the quality of the game for everyone on both teams
I would much rather have someone who rages than someone who shuts down

the way I see it, people in cs only seem like "assholes" because they care more about winning than their own insecurities, which money and fame incentivizes, whereas in tf2 taking things seriously doesn't gain you enough for it to be appealing to most people

I keep seeing seth myers videos in the trending list for youtube, and dear god every video I've seen of him has been unfunny, forced and his writers probably write everything for him anyway (and he covered the election a bunch and still is)
then I saw an interview with jon stewart here and it made me miss the wit, the humour and the intelligence that he so effortlessly showed when he hosted the daily show. colbert's pretty solid though, I liked his monologue after the election and found it pretty inspiring

john oliver is pretty funny but he doesn't update videos on youtube as much (and his humour and entertainment is very well-researched but it doesn't have the raw insight and intelligence that stewart had/has)
but yeah I still keep up to date with his videos when I can, wish there were a bunch on them during and after the election

I've lost around 23 Euro in an unsuccessful money transaction that basically never even happened. Thanks, Skrill!
It also took them like a month to figure out a simple issue and a couple more weeks to give me my money back.
