Last spring I made a thread about my old band, Pregnancy Pact, and got a really warm response from you guys so I decided to make another thread about my new band, Crowning. Musically, Crowning is pretty similar to Pregnancy Pact but much heavier, faster, and more consistent in tone. Our debut ep, "Funeral Designs", will be out February 14th along with a 70 copy run on cassette. I am not joking. If you're into punk/hardcore/anime/metal/k-pop/the general topic of pregnancy it would really mean a lot to me if you checked us out.
Here's a link to a short interview, a track by track rundown of the EP, and a premiere of one of the songs on the EP, "Buddy Dwyer": http://openmindsaturatedbrain.blogspot.com/2016/12/crowning-exclusive-song-premiere.html
Another song from the EP, "Valleity", will be featured on the Zegema Beach Records sampler #8, which comes out January 1st. listen to that here: https://zegemabeachrecords.bandcamp.com/track/velleity
https://crowningpool.bandcamp.com/album/funeral-designs-2
(100% of the proceeds from tapes bought through our bandcamp/us in person will be donated to the International Rescue Committee emergency fund)
EDIT: whole thing is streaming here :D

That song's fuckin' SWEET. As someone who's really into the underground punk/hardcore scene (Deathwish, etc. & related) you've got something wild going on here. Incredible vocals and I love the guitar tones. Definitely going to follow this project.
I actually know Zegema and that's awesome you're releasing tapes through them. That new Respire 12" is siick.
Honestly, I'm in the middle of producing my own music in the same vein as Zegema's roster and I'm probably going to submit it to that blog once I'm done. That's kinda exciting to know you're there, small world, huh?

I never called out anyone for their music taste.
I'm just suggesting that referencing someone who commit suicide on live tv is in poor taste and I dislike the idea of naming albums after someone purely because they killed themselves.

the point is you could've just said that in the first place instead of that garbled mess of a post and you wouldn't have come off as such an asshole

asdassldgjhalkjh i hear this a lot
there are two ways i usually listen to music with harsh vocals
if i can make out what the person is saying through the screams/growls/whatever i will pay attention to it
if i don't understand a damn thing then i treat the vocals as just another instrument and instead interpret a possible meaning of the song through the song title and sonic themes presented; you can usually google up the lyrics for yourself unless you're listening to a somewhat obscure band
also i found buddy dwyer quite enjoyable, i am definitely looking forward to the full release of the album

hey guys! thank you so much for the feedback! Some people added me asking for what gear we used so here's what I know/remember. For the most part we used a soldano(slo 100 I think), and a hellmouth distortion pedal. I believe we used a a sunn model for the latter half of Buddy Dwyer though. The guy who runs that blog sent me a message saying so much of his traffic was from tftv hahaha. Anyway, the compilation album came out so I figured you guys might want to check it out. Our song on there is #3. Hope you enjoy it and happy new year ^_^

Hey so our thing is up for pre-order and comes out on the 14th :D I decided to post this today because Bandcamp is donating their share of the proceeds to the American Civil Liberties Union (https://www.aclu.org/), so we decided that we should hop on the charity train and donate all of our proceeds to the International Rescue Committee (https://www.rescue.org/) for now until the foreseeable future (when i need to pay for esea fees/pay pankeyman back for his illuminated insight on the shadow realm beneath the systems of e-sports capitalism.)
