honestly i wouldn't have such a problem with invite players in open if they actually played the fucking game. 9 times out of 10 when ur an actual open player getting matched up against something like elclassico one of their players will go afk or they run pyro to mid or any other number of retard things to waste ur time instead of just rolling you as i imagine any low level team paying to play competitive would actually prefer you do. i mean i get not wanting to pay more when you don't want to try, but then why do these people not just go play UGC and fuck around? why are you paying money to fuck with newbies?
SidularWell, I expected hostility. Glad someone here was able to meet my expectations.
no, u posted this to cry about it knowing other people would agree with u
People don't get to invite for being bad at the game. They get there for being good, and having more experience than your average competitive player. Having one or even two ex-invite players per team in Open is totally fine, but to have a team comprised almost entirely of people that have played at the highest level of TF2? I don't see how any of that is fine.
i refer u to the definition of what an OPEN division is
ESEA Open is supposed to be open for everyone to play and compete in, given the name. If you're an amazing player, you start in Open, and climb the ranks. Nothing wrong with that.
What I'm essentially bitching about is the fact that ESEA just casually allows people from Invite to essentially say "Meh, fuck it" and come back down to Open just because the competition is easier.
thats not esea, thats pretty much every for-cash league ive ever heard of that had a tiered system
Stacking a team with players that have played at invite shouldn't be allowed, and it doesn't promote competition. Players that are doing it just for the easy money, have absolutely no respect from me. And come on, if you're stacking an open team, you're doing it for the money.
This isn't UGC guys. Sandbagging in a paid league is just rotten.
ya, s21 we tried like 6 different lineups and lost/almost lost multiple maps to teams of IM/open players who im pretty sure would agree saw us as a beatable team provided they played well, just because u cant come close doesnt mean nobody else can
Also, I never expected to win Open, or even come close to it.

I just want fair competition, and a chance to learn and grow as a player. I'm not entitled to anything here, so stop with that shit. I just don't find it fair that 5 players that previously played at the highest level of ESEA, should be allowed to play on a team together at the lowest level of ESEA. Players that stack like that are doing it for one of two reasons. Easy money, or they simply don't want competition. Either way, it's bullshit.
yeah i have no idea whats going on with ur brain but im gonna advise u to never play anything competitively ever because ur ego or whatever is obviously too fragile to handle the fact that you will play people who are much much more skilled than u are in any game u play
nobodys cheating, nothing about this is unfair and just a brief glance at all the ideas and thoughts youve put forth would actually make me think youre one of the most delusional, entitled humans ive ever seen to touch tf2. granted, you fit in with a lot of the playerbase but when u say shit like this
https://i.gyazo.com/7a253954c52172aa46c3f63a6d18c1c1.png
i really have a hard time believing that any of the thoughts that enter ur brain have even a semblance of being rooted in reality and that most of ur time is spent jerking urself off and telling everybody how amazing u r because its some kind of injustice that nobodys picked up on what an amazing job ur doing
go remind urself how unfair it is next time u lose, im sure it will take the edge off.

i mean it looks like youre getting 5-0'd by other teams full of open players any way so whats the difference between getting 5-0'd by the sandbag team vs the mid-high open team. for as long as there has been an invite division there have been teams of players that are considered "invite level" playing in open to mess around. just get better at the game and start winning the matches against the teams you have a chance at beating. eventually you'll make it out of open and wont have to deal with them anymore. whining in a thread about how its unfair and it hurts your feelings doesnt help anything, esea isn't going to force people to play in the highest division that they have the potential to play in for "the integrity of the game!". Just fucking deal with accepting 1 free loss vs the sandbag team and try to win all your other games.

Cerdurmhah why are people allowed 2 pay money and play with their friends in open and have a good time jesus who would do thatwhat if they're also trying to have a good time but you sandbag and shit up the place
ok so open players enjoyment should be prioritized over invite players?
?????
is that really what ur saying?
esea is a fucking business thats providing a service, everybody paid the same amount to play. go play ugc and deal with somebodys uncle arbitrarily making up arbitrary rules and tell me thats better

what's the difference between an invite sandbag and the #3 team in open when it comes to everyone who isn't on the #2nd~5th team?
you're gonna get demolished either way but now u just look bitter

yer defening yourself by saying you're just trying to have fun
just pointing out that it's a double edged sword because you're fucking with their fun
is it really that arbitrary to set up a system that prevents X amount of invite players from playing on an open team
is that honestly beyond your comprehension

literally has 0 to do with my ability/skill in this game, more just frustration that people think this way and are for some reason encouraged to
i am 100% sure u dont think that way and know that its not helpful

idk at least i dont have to create a website, steamgroup, twitter an twitch channel for my pretty much non-existent circlejerk and then constantly lie in it about how great of a job were doing to take control of tf2 and have a huge impact on the scene
honestly at this point i envy u because i dont have the ability to spend 18 hours a day lying to myself that im some special snowflake whos underappreciated thats gotta be a real enjoyable way to live
cerd this goes for u as well, it's actually astonishing to me how self assured you are when you are absolutely digging-in-the-dirt stupid

maybe if the prize pool wasn't so low for im, you wouldn't see so many invite players in open
just take money from open prisepool and move it to im prizepool, problem kinda solved
mhonestly at this point i envy u because i dont have the ability to spend 18 hours a day lying to myself that im some special snowflake whos underappreciated thats gotta be a real enjoyable way to live

it's not about whether you lose or not, it's about getting to learn anything during that loss. If you're getting 5-0'd by an open team they might be a bit better than you at dm, maybe they played a season or two together and are just better at playing as a unit but you can easily see what you did wrong and improve. you get 5-0'd by a sandbag team and even assuming they didn't just bm you the entire game, all you're going to see is that they hit nearly every shot, wow that sure is helpful for me trying to get better

Let me clarify this.
1. I don't care if invite players come into Open, and play in that division. Nothing against that.
2. What I'm against, is having a team comprised entirely of invite level players, playing in Open.

I just don't like the idea of them forming communities.

hey maybe if you dont want to deal with invite players you should just create your own tf2 league and take down ESEA!!!!

Yeah, totally! Down with ESEA!
But seriously. I love ESEA. It's automated, easy to use, and just a simple league to play and compete in. I think it has areas where it can be improved, but it's solid otherwise. But god damn, do I hate sandbaggers. Doesn't matter the league or game, I just hate them.
