Hey guys, as an experiment I created a CompetitiveTF2 Twitch community.
Please stream there and help make comp TF2 more discoverable on Twitch.

[edit] also can someone help me with the artwork? We need a 1200x180 background wallpaper and 600x800 box art.

What's the difference between teams and communities on Twitch?
What's the difference between teams and communities on Twitch?
Teams are a page where people can stream to the page.
i.e. Showstopper streaming Team Fortress 2 on TeamFortress.TV
Our Team: http://twitch.tv/team/teamfortresstv
Communities are a directory like sorting the directory by viewership or by game.
https://www.twitch.tv/directory/communities
It's really new right now so we can actually get a lot of people watching TF2 if we just get our box art up there.

I'm an idiot, how do you stream to this?
Looking at the page I don't see any buttons that lets me stream to this.

It's on your dashboard. Title, language, search for communties, then type in competitivetf2 and select it from the list.
Looks like someone made a community called TF2 and another guy made TF2-Comp. Let the battle begin @_@.

pendaCan people stream on both tftv and this community?
Yes, if you mean the current already existing TFTV stuff
bearodactylim confused whats the difference between this and the tftv community
TFTV in Twitch is a team much like actual organizations or so where you always needed to access the team before you could join in and stream for them, meanwhile the new CompetitiveTF2 community that Slin is posting is something anyone can join in to regardless if they are in the TFTV team or not.
From what I do understand of it now, communities are like the Twitch teams that are existing already with the exception that they are not closed to specific people only.

Yeah expanding on #13, you're not supposed to have 1000+ channels in your team like what I did with the TFTV team. In fact, the TFTV team is literally one of the largest teams on Twitch, accidentally. Most teams only have like 10 channels in them.
Communities join thousands of channels together in one directory so that people can find related channels. TFTV is unique cause we have a sidebar that brings everyone together. Speedrunslive.com is a website that brings all of the speedrunning streams together. But now there's an actual directory on Twitch that brings everyone together so you don't have to create an external website.
Also teams are invite-only, which was a real pain because you had to manually invite every single person. Now anyone can go to their dashboard and put their stream in the right community.

I just screwed with the Community thingy and created "TF2-Comp". I couldn't delete it anymore, so you are free to delete it, if you can. :)

I encourage anyone and everyone to use this. It's best we try to grow comp in as many ways possible.

just to further clarify slin with a visual,
http://i.imgur.com/I3w7RAf.png
you now have the current game, the "community" (which anyone can set to anything), and then the "team" (which was previously the only other addition, as a manually invited-to thing)
