uberchainThere's no way artists know about medals being finalized unless they are told, "we're finalizing now, add this dude, they modeled your concept". Some modelers will ask you who made the concept art, otherwise they assume whoever is talking to them is the artist.
To back this point up, it is the responsibility of whoever is publishing or overseeing the creation of a medal to make sure ALL parties are credited. Hearing mitch say "that was that" sounds like an undersell of an integral part of the item creation process (concept), and isn't really a fair excuse at all.
The art came from somewhere- so respect the person who made it.
i'm worried about them. seems like they're overworking themselves- tf team if you're reading this, dont be afraid to take a vacation. mental health takes precedence over your rigid corporate schedule.
ComangliaI'm legitimately curious why you would think people would be happy to see a weapon that was banned previously and it's only change since then was to allow for mini-crits while being kritzkrieg'd and I think the afterburn rework was after this point as well but that's not nearly as important. Literally all the criticism for the Cow Mangler from S25 and 26? is still the same.
I never said people would be happy. I wanted to hear peoples perspective on unbanning for 'progress' vs remaining banned for balance. I'm well aware of the general consensus. I specifically made a point in my post about how people dislike its current state.
TurySpeaking about sigafoo not liking stacked teams, he one time tried to get me and some other people banned from TF2center because of a stacked HL lobby.

I think the mod's response to his post sums up this whole thing pretty well
"you cant ban people for wanting to play with friends."
thats a dumb reason to try and get people banned but honestly yall are a bunch of dicks if you're stalling out the game that much just to farm people clearly less experienced than you
Legitimately curious, would those anti-cowmangler prefer it remain banned forever for the remainder of time until it is adjusted by valve? We all know valve will takes months (nay, years) to change it regardless of if it's whitelisted, but at least by having it whitelisted, you can channel that anger of the weapon's balance into constructive incentive for valve to step on the gas with it- whereas before rebalancing the weapon might not have been high on the to-do list.
It would've been cooler if sig had put a bounty on froyo's head. "If anybody can take them down, your winnings will be 50% higher" or something.
By removing them from the league you've effectively lowered the skill ceiling of the entire population. Now nobody has to bother being that good at the game, they just have to be above the next guy. I get that froyo roosting first is annoying but being that good isn't impossible.
It forces the next team to strive for that level of effort (even if it takes a long time to get there)
LiyahDaffodil-yeah, I played like shit in that match, I made sure to learn from it and it was a humbling experiencemaybe if being called an "fucking autistic retard" makes you this angry months after it happened, you spend more time seeking the help of a licensed mental health professional and less time championing stupid witch hunts on tf.tv?
no I didnt rage at you during scrims
sorry that I played poorly :/
never warranted you calling me a "fucking autistic retard"
maybe not being toxic is more reasonable than attacking someone's character?
catfacealexa this is so sad please play daffodil drops 5 ubers and then rages at catface in scrims the next day after being told to take scrims seriously
if only fabulous played with us instead of you :(
LukasCZYou guys have your own head and you wont change your decision. We want to talk about it as a community but its not really happening.
we're literally talking about it as a community right now. you are literally doing exactly what you are saying won't happen.
Multiple leagues have now publicized their stances on harrasment. Sponsors have put their foot down on where they put their money, depending on said stances. People are coming out about their experiences, and skeletons are being dragged out the closet. And you want to stop this because..?
LukasCZIf you want to ban people, ban everyone who said something wrong, not only because it happened to someone who is something else in this community. Peace and love <3
You're not the first person to miss the point and you sadly won't be the last. Stop trivializing the conversation because "w-well you're only having it because the person is known now!!". Yes, this happened to other people too. They did not have the platform to publicize it, or felt pressured not to. Now that we have a spotlight on the issue, we need to immediately use it to decide as a community how we deal with it. Uberchain being a community figure does not make the problem any less real, and does not make the concern any less sincere.
LukasCZCan we just end this thread unban both, let pred apologize and move on?
Everyone is just going to shittalk others in community cuz one guy is on uberchains side and others on theirs,
Again, you are trivializing the point. Now that everyone knows of the issue we can fix it moving forward. It would have been ideal to begin much earlier but there was never a major discussion on the topic. Now there is one. Let's use this opportunity. Why would you just ignore it because "it's too late"? It's never too late.
faust_catman1900hard pill to swallow: free speech doesn't mean you can say whatever you want without consequences
i just wanna know who becomes in charge of deciding what's offensive and what's not.
as an exaggerated example if i call my friend ugly in chat am i now banned or am i missing the point? seems like it could derail very quickly.. the whole process would be very subjective
Intent and context matter. calling your friend ugly and calling a community member controversial slurs aren't even comparable in the slightest, the line is more defined than you think it is. Nobody sensible is asking for on-the-spot bans of any remotely bad behavior, just a system of monitoring and stepping in when it's clearly gone too far. Social media harassment and repeated patterns of behavior are telltale signs that it's no longer a joke but clearly a person who doesn't belong in the community.
maelstrahmUnfortunately that will never end so it's just a smarter decision to grow a thicker skin and ignore it
How about instead of enabling bad behavior on the grounds of "it just happens" we collectively make an effort to punish that behavior and help victims of it feel welcome? If you actually bothered to read uberchain's post you'd know that "grow thicker skin" is something that's said consantly. That's not okay. That's literally justifying awful behavior by writing it off as a joke. It's not a joke when it's making people uncomfortable and legitimately driving talented and skilled people out of the community.
