well i think the reward is too ridiculous for hitting that insane skybox arrow
soldiers do 48 dmg for those retarded airshots, airpipes do 100 but thats because if pipes had falloff the would be awful
i agree that balancing it is hard without completely breaking it, and a good compromise would be by making it so that it heals over time, instead of all the hp at once
it's just completely unfun to play against when you're fighting someone and they suddenly get 100 hp or if a medic is literally just spamming arrows into a heavy or pocket

Crossbow's should only have the ability to heal players that are below 50% health.

I might be biased because I got fucking demolished trying to play prem playoffs miscounting uber advantages almost every time I played against a team that arrow built (not that it was the top reason I did so shit,) but I feel it slows the game down rather, as uber advantages are more easily equalised in general.
IMO it could do with reduced uber building capabilities, I do understand it takes aim and all that, but I think it'd be healthier if it was more limited to utility, rather than it almost being better than the medigun

give crossbow the same stats for friendlies and enemies so it does like 40 for a point blank arrow instead of 75

Heal over time + heal amount nerf could both happen and people would still use crossbow just for the occasional airshot.
Adding the ability to gain uber from it was stupid overkill and should have never happened imo. It turned a clutch weapon into a crutch weapon.

xbow on release was awesome. no passive reload so you had to think about each shot, no uber builiding. go back to that and its fine

open ended question: would a change to a syringe gun (any of them really) that gives ubercharge on kill be very broken, or an alright change? Assuming the crossbow still has its current stats with building uber on teammate heal

I'm not sure how well this Jarate nerf would work in practice, but i'll just put it here anyway.
If the sniper that threw it dies, any enemies the sniper effected are cleared of Jarate's effect.

its been stated already but i think the uber building is a fine mechanic its just broken in its current state
it should not be allowed to build faster than an uber, but it should still you equivalent or even less uber % per arrow in the time span that you wouldve been healing with the medi gun

after you get picks as sniper and are able to push out (or their team just fed) and you're playing sniper on mid/2nd during transition fights, there are plenty of times where a soldier bombs my medic (or just in general) and it's incredibly more reliable to noscope them midair then smg them.
