my bad, was using what was written on the ESEA roster. I plan on pulling match demos for unknown rosters unless i know rosters are wrong (i.e. pyxel/thing/OP getting cut/quitting for rowpieces/blackstar/yipyapper)

I think it's more of an issue of people wanting quality over quantity. If you look at sandblasts IM rankings he does it for eight teams with very succinct reasons why each team is in each spot, yours feels kind of rushed and there's very few mention of players and only a few results listed. You can also go the other way and make a larger ranking like Percy did at the beginning of the season with less info and that is acceptable, because who would honestly expect you to write about 16 open teams without losing your mind. It just seems like you picked the worst of both worlds.

And I'm pretty sure GGen is on your rankings and called them bad soooo.

i should preface this by who cares its open but im confused by how u can call a spreadsheet with rounds for/against/record a power ranking

on another note im sure wrech cuts whichever mongs are beefing on their team and try hard in playoffs for another check

The spreadsheet is not the power rankings, it's just my attempt at learning about the rosters/records of the teams i'm not familliar with before I do a writeup in a way that is visually cleaner for me than looking at the scoreboard. I also decided to organize by overall ranking, and have been writing in notes such as how hard teams' schedules have been and what their rosters/cores have done in the past.

I didn't read the whole thread nor did I pay much attention to the last few seasons of open threads much so I could be misinformed. When I was playing in Open, the write ups were done based on whatever teams were Top 16 at the week of writing. I could be confused here because of my ignorance of lower divisions, but I think if you guys wanna write about open I think this would be the easiest way would be to see who is currently ranked in top 16, and if you need any information on any teams you can just watch a demo of their latest match. Also writing based on previous week results and hyping up their performance for the following week will probably be a lot less taxing than trying to hype a team up for a whole season every single week.

This is all based on the few times I skimmed and decided to read through the open threads, but I have a feeling you guys are too concerned with making up your own top 16s every week and, as collateral, boosting egos. This format seems to be easier to make write ups on, and people will actually have to fight for a top 16 spot instead of relying on knowing people to boost their self confidence.

Also since you guys are writing it for the pure fun of it, you can make it a Top 16/10/8. I still think you should follow "whoever is Top 16/10/8 at the time of writing" instead of making up your own lists.
