I use the Quake3 hitsound and "Ting" killsound.
Quake3 is a great hitsound imo. Noticeable, but not ear-piercing, not too annoying and kinda satisfying and works well with different pitches.
"Ting" is great aswell. Short, but you'll never not hear it and it kinda get's me exited about my kills ;)
