Le Pen getting 34.1% of the vote is still an embarrassment, but at least white nationalism lost today.

Macron represents everything that is wrong with our actual system, if it wasn't to block the nationalist party most people wouldn't have voted for him if not at all.

I admit that I don't know much about the current election, but wasn't the main reason Macron and Le Pen became the two choices in the first place was because Hollande was pretty unanimously hated and screwed any chances of his party doing good, and Fillon was actually corrupt? Just seems like a shitty election in general.

I still don't understand why nationalism is considered an inherently negative thing. I don't know shit about Le Pen so maybe she was a bad choice but if she was truly voted against because she represents a nationalist party I don't really understand that line of thinking.

He quit being minister of economy because Hollande didn't see eye to eye with him about the economy, and as such, he was unable to enact the policies that he wanted. He ran as an independent, which is why he was called a political outsider.

An 'independent outsider' endorsed by the current administration he was once part of and eventually by every single party no longer in the election
just doesn't sound very convincing, now does it?

He wasn't endorsed by the current administration, he didn't run under Hollande's banner. He worked for him, but was not endorsed by him.

Not only wasnt he endorsed by every single party no longer in the election, but the ones which did did it only to ensure a win against Marine Le Pen.
I know fake news are becoming a common thing online, but I'd be grateful if you didnt help spreading them.

a guy who worked for Hollande starting his 'own movement' is simply a rebrand due to Hollande's awful approval rating, nothing more. You're a fool if you think he will be any different

for anyone that wants kind of a summary of the election
The actual problem is that this election didnt get split from the very beginning bewteen 2 top candidates like the ones before but between 4 (macron, le pen, fillon, mélenchon) who each got around 20%. Macron didnt get elected because the real majority of people actually had faith in him and his plan for the next 5 years but to not get le pen as our president. That also means that the vast majority of the people is not satisfied by macron as our president.
There is, in a few months, the general election and no one really knows who will get the majority since :
-people voted for macron because he represents something new (apparently lol), he's good looking and young and that appeals to a lot of people who vote very lightly i would say (so deputies of his movement might not benefit of the same effect as he did)
-the right was supposed to win this election (according to every poll, ... before fillon's scandals were revealed), but fillon's scandals do not matter in this one since he withdrew, so they might be the majority elected.
-this time people won't vote against le pen but for their own beliefs (at least more than during the presidency) so it might benefit her and her party
-and melenchon keeps on having a good vibe around him
tldr; its a very weird election

dailyLe Pen is definitely a nationalist. A white nationalist? I think you're reaching at straws that don't exist.
A quick google search suggests that around 85% of French citizens are white (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_France). If you really think that nationalism in predominantly white Western countries isn't tied up with racism than ur stupid (or a nationalist yourself and denying the racism). Her platform was largely about keeping foreigners out in a variety of ways, you just can't say that nationalism doesn't appeal to people in places like France because they want to keep people of other races out...

What the fuck is "white nationalism" even supposed to be? Are you confused because it sounds similar to racism or are you just trying to pull a connection to white supremacism out of your arse?
The USA are also predominantly white, does that mean their nationalism is also white nationalism? And how is white nationalism different from black nationalism? Is it relevant that it's white nationalism when Trump complains about Germany's trade surplus? Is it relevant when he wants to build a wall to keep the Mexicans out?
Switzerland seems pretty white. Does that mean voting against immigration from EU states is white nationalism?
Or maybe you should learn to recognize the difference between nationalism, racism and xenophobia.
