I think it is just a mental flaw in the human mind. The human mind is very confusing, deep, and weird so I have no doubt that because there is a difference in model and sound that your brain is wired to treat a weapon as something entirely different until you can hammer into your head that weapons that are reskins are indeed, just reskins.

i cannot use the cow mangler at all for whatever reason. like i cannot even fucking rocket jump.

the cow mangler isnt actually identical to stock because its rocket placement is actually closer to somewhere between stock and the original

Iron bomber is actually alot easier to hit because the pipes are more consistent in the air, compared to stock grenade launcher. Give it a look.

Am not a high level player but I remember having a better time hitting headshots with the hitman's heatmaker than the stock sniper rifle.

Not a high level player as well. I've noticed this happens for a short period of time after changing to the reskin, or even when I turn viewmodels on after playing without them forever. It can be just placebo but I think it's possible that it could have an effect on your brain that makes you hit more shots(psychology is a big factor in that anyway) but only for a short period of time, then I get used to it and it's the same.

an easy to do test is to stand on the lip of badlands train and shoot rockets through the crack, then switch launchers and do the same thing. It will be easy to see that the cowmangler shoots from closer to the center of the screen.

Agree, but perhaps most jumper mains started doing it before Original was released? Whenever I see a soldier jump clip it's almost always stock.

wall climbs are easier to learn on original but stock can propel you up a wall much more quickly when compared to the original during wall climbs. there are a number of other important facets to using stock when rocket jumping which give it a higher skill ceiling for speed and maneuverability.
