You can't buy a full auto AK47 or shotgun you dolt
You can mod them to be full auto, but it's illegal. And tbh, you can kill just as many people with a full auto ak-47 as a .22 cal. In fact, most m4's the army uses do not have a full auto setting because it's actually not as useful as you would think.

When shit like this happens it is unpredictable and random to the general population. Gun laws will not stop these situations. In those moments you cannot rely on prayers, god, the government, the military or the police to save you or the people you love. I have lived life since my early 20's training and trying to be as prepared as I can possibly be for the unexpected when I am in public. For that reason, I legally carry 24/7 and refuse be the individual hiding under a desk waiting for my turn to die. Sorry if that is to abrasive to read or comprehend. It may be almost impossible for foreigners to understand but that is reality as I see it. More armed citizens who are responsible gun owners will have a positive impact and save lives.
I truly hope these attacks end but it may not be any time soon. Even if something does happen near me, I may still die even though I am armed, but at least I will have the option to save my own ass if I am better than the other guy.

The odds of you committing justifiable homicide are way lower than an accidental discharge causing an injury
carrying a gun 24/7 is like always wearing a life vest to avoid floods

u guys are borderline crazy. any effort to reduce the amount of guns circulating, illegal or otherwise, would result in less of these shootings. i cant fathom how thats not obvious.

deykuzorluxorI honestly hope ISIS is not involved.
Why would ISIS be involved? They have nothing against the developmentally disabled. This is just a hate crime with a sick agenda, like most domestic shootings.... And it's really really disgusting,
Edit: i was reminded Isis was persecuting the developmentally disabled at one point. I apologize for not being entirely correct.
what if this is their way to get us to fuck ourselves up? it could be more elaborate than we think.

It's illegal but relatively easy. The guns still have this functionality, it just merely inhibited for models sold in America.

id say thats easier than buying a gun on a black market
My opinion is that both sides of the gun control debate are totally unreasonable and that is why they cannot find a middle ground and agree on very small and basic changes that benefit both groups and the country at large. Both groups are afraid to take their foot of the gas pedal because it could be interpreted as a "show of weakness" by the other. Both are scared it will be the end of their agendas if they show weakness.
When both sides of the gun control debate speak about their agenda, they do so with such passion that they take individual examples and situations to the utmost extreme. Doing that makes the other side immediately shut down and get defensive, therefore ending civil communication. No common ground is found and another stalemate ensues.
I am personally pro-gun but I disagree on a lot of the things the NRA pushes and says. I disagree because the extremes they go to in order to make a point are mostly always the "worst case scenario". The same thing can be said for the anti-gun advocates in this country. To just come and flat out say things like "we need to take all guns away from everyone" is another insane extreme and never going to be a reality.

Many other countries banned all guns and enforced it strictly, or you're only allowed to own one with license without ammunition. It worked for them, so why does the US feel so special and entitled to their guns who kill more people by accidents than you soldiers do in an actual war?
People of all age groups are significantly more likely to die from unintentional firearm injuries when they live in states with more guns, relative to states with fewer guns. On average, states with the highest gun levels had nine times the rate of unintentional firearms deaths compared to states with the lowest gun levels

The best answer to your question is that our country is not like these others you have mentioned. (Denmark and Sweden I think?) Those countries are very much smaller than the USA and have a VASTLY different cultural history. I happen to feel that my country IS special when compared to all others.
We have a proud firearms culture in this country that spans generations. Perhaps you cannot relate to that history, and that is ok by me, but know that it is not one easily cast aside because someone says "Gun are bad".
I believe you need to take the culture of a people into account before you can say a blanket statement like the one you said. "Banning all guns" will never be a reality in this country. It will never be accepted here in the USA. You can choose to disagree with that if you like, it doesn't change the fact.

I dont get why americans think australian gun laws would work for them
Our gun laws worked because we didnt have a high amount of gun ownership, the amount of uncivilized people who owned guns was low and the main type of gun people owned was hunting rifles
Although america should implement our laws that require somebody to have a decent amount of agency to get a gun legally

Hallowit can be about more than one topic
Two people carried out a pre-planned mission to kill innocent people. There were a dozen pipe bombs found at their apartment. The female shooter pledged allegiance to a fucking terrorist group. This is not about gun laws. This is about Muslim extremism and America's response to it.

I'm just saying, people like to pretend that gun-control debates are inherently damaging to whoever partakes in them when really I feel they're important for change to come. Muslim extremism should certainly be discussed alongside it (perhaps with priority) but these new facts does not render the gun-control debate unnecessary. I mean, this is exactly the kind of distractions that Avast was referring to in #97 and your mentality is likely part of why gunlaws still aren't much stricter than they were before Columbine (not sure I spelt that right).

You want a neckbeard to go with that opinion?
My country has nearly exactly the same percentage of white people as america (roughly 80%) And europe as a whole has way more people than america (more than double) and all countries combined do not have as many mass shootings as your country, we have immigrant crisises, different nationalities and ethnic groups constantly having to deal with eachother (open borders) and yet we do not have the problems you do, but somehow it's something funny in your mind to pass our opinions of as irrelevant because hur hur hur muh guns

ikd i'm kind of surprised how so many people bought it here too. corporate media at its best i guess, shaping public opinion. multiple eyewitnesses reporting the same thing will never be enough to challenge an entire conglomerate with strong political objectives
keep calm and carry on as they say
