Depends how much you wanna win, if your team is winning and you see yourself improving and thats your goal you could try to stick through it until you have a better offer.

If you play to have fun you might aswell search for a new option instantly and if you don't want that the team dies only merc for officials until they found someone new

Muster up what willpower you have and endure it. Work towards the bigger goal that playing for this team will push you towards.

When you think that you can't take anymore, just imagine your end game, the amount of work it took to get this close to it, and the satisfaction and self fulfillment that you'll feel when you achieve it, or even just progress a bit further towards it.

NurseyIf I don't get first place on the next team I'm on, it will tell me I didn't deserve first place to begin with. If this happens to be the case, then I'm okay with that.

Werent you saying that you left froyo because you wanted to prove you deserve being first place? How can you do that without beating froyo?

That list was a series of lies, I'm sorry. I don't feel committed to TF2 nearly as much as I did a year ago. I wanted to join EVL because I know they would not care about my ability to never be here on time. They are a super amazing team full of people who barely even need to talk about or touch the game (except corsa). If I treated Froyotech like I am currently treating EVL, I obviously would've just gotten the boot anyway. The real reason why I left Froyotech was an extremely selfish reason (much more selfish than just saying I wanna prove I'm good) and unfortunately I put myself in a situation where I genuinely can't enjoy the personalities on my current team. I don't think leaving Froyotech was a mistake, but trying to pursue this game still as a hobby has made myself and the others I play with miserable. Unfortunately I don't have many actions that can remedy what I've done, but I can still try my best.

After thinking over what I've been doing the last two hours and with the little push that this dumb thread gave me, the smartest decision would be for me to step down from a starting position on any team and be happy with a backup spot. I will use any dedication I have left for competitive TF2 towards helping newer players get into the game. I'm sorry for blatantly begging for negative attention in this thread but I thoroughly felt I needed something like this to help me figure how I want to treat TF2. I'm sorry for being autistic, retarded, etc.

This is a slowly dying game and any monetary gain you get out of it is far less than minimum wage when you take into account how many hours you put into winning a tournament. It makes no sense to play the game if not for the fun that comes from it. Why would you play in a team you hate to be in? Whether you're winning or losing, you're not having fun, so what's the point? Momentary internet glory in a niche community?

And since we're on the topic: far too many teams will cut players that are "not good enough" and likewise far too many players will leave teams that are "not good enough" for them- or in your case, you leave a team because it is "too good" for you. What people should be focusing on is assembling teams with friends / people they enjoy playing with and then progress together. How many teams have been destroyed because of this delusional glory-seeking mentality? How many hundreds of players sit in recruitment Hell because they have convinced themselves that they belong somewhere higher than they actually do?

It is a competitive mindset indeed, but it is an exaggerated one and it harms the spirit of the game. Everyone is after instant victory, instant reward, instant gratification; and 'lo and behold all the drama and toxicity that follows when the illusion is shattered and they lose games.

"You don't try hard enough"
"You don't review enough demos"
"You don't pay attention to maptalks"
"You don't practice enough DM"
"You don't complete enough jump maps"

You should only subject yourself to all of this if and only if:
A) The financial reward is worth it
B) You and your team enjoy the experience of improving together

You lack both A and B, so why subject yourself through the torment any further?

Go and have fun, mate. If you don't like the team then leave.

yell and whine constantly, and put one person up against the other, and cause your team to implode.
If they leave first, you win.
