I want new crosshairs (i see them as hud related)

Crosshairs with outlines or shadows and legible damage numbers. Maybe uber % under the crosshair as well.

Crosshair customization like CSGO
Crosshair customization like CSGO
Allow players to customize the color of their damage numbers without having to go through a hud editing process (maybe make a section in advanced options)
I or other hud editors could go on until we're blue in the face about things that are dumb (like changing mat_antialias value to edit the main menu) but I don't have the time to write a nerd essay about it at the moment

Different fonts. The ones used in the default hud are fucking awful.

testhudanim is a command that requires sv_cheats for no real reason (you already can trigger some animations at-will so if there's anything you can exploit it's already there), if it became a regular command it'd be a dream for hud editors (anything from class specific huds that can look completely different from eachother, to customizing the hud however you want entirely ingame through scripting / buttons, to just generally having pretty near complete scripting integration in huds). As a hud dev, removing the cheat flag on testhudanim imo is the best thing that could happen to huds.
Some other things that might be nice, nothing big and all easily doable but nice to have:
- Option to not have your crosshair disappear when you open the scoreboard
- Option to not have your crosshair resize when you're shooting the ambassador
- Some better system than having to replace autoexec.cfg / valve.rc if you want your hud to execute scripts
- Some better system than having to replace tf_english.txt / chat_english.txt if you want to change it
- Un-breaking the "welcome back, playername" and whatnot so that it works again
- Be able to change the default position and size of the console
- A command to reload clientscheme and whatnot, instead of having to exit out constantly to get it right

Yea with VTF crosshairs a lot is possible today but it's not that big of a task for them to port over some of the cs:go settings. There already is a gap function for the open cross (with or without dot) but it doesn't work properly. Not sure why they decided not to implement it but afaik nothing about the source engine is holding them back
Also currently resolution has a big influence on crosshairs so using a low res like 800x600 or 640x480 makes some crosshairs a mess so using a low cl_crosshair_scale often doesn't work out well with low resolutions. This is an issue HUD elements (HUD crosshairs) don't have
Also on the subject of crosshairs they should really polish the VTF files. If you've ever looked at the standard VTF crosshairs to edit them you might've seen that a lot of them are asymetrical (default scattergun crosshair, default rocket launcher crosshair) or off center (default sniper crosshair). Also they probably didn't save the VTFs with the right flags because some are very blurry (top of default medigun crosshair) which is never an issue when I make a VTF crosshair with the correct flags checked. Or they used a bad jpg to make their crosshairs
Commands for resizing or recoloring default HUD damage numbers would be cool. Due to how HUD fonts work that's probably harder to make work though

default spectator tournament UI is really, really, really bad
so are stock damage numbers
i think valve should pick up Improved Default HUD and flamehud and make them official HUDs

The cartoony fonts used in the default hud feel fit to the art style of the game which in my opinion is quite charming.

Something like tf_hud_minmode 2 that centers the ammo and health text so that a custom HUD isn't completely essential for some players.
A command to make damage numbers a static HUD element only.

Different fonts could be available as an alternate option in the default HUD tho

i know this is a little late but i feel like they should improve the cowmangler ui and treat it more like the other weapons and not just an item meter
