 (For future reference: I'm not an emo child, I don't delete tweets lol)
I don't think asking Multiplay to provide the most basic tournament information (that should have been public months prior) and them finally following through really obliges anyone to go to LAN. Only after that point should any team even reasonably start planning to go. Then there are the million other factors that come next that could prevent someone from going despite being initially interested. For that very reason we were extremely careful never to officially confirm we were going to i61 even after the tournament was confirmed. I'm just as disappointed as anyone that i61 might not be a top tier competition, but as for this thread I'm still skeptical that Se7en wouldn't go, based on the convenience factor alone.
I got massive respect for you but that's just wrong.
I reserved two hotel rooms in advanced, no money paid so far, the cheapest deal, took us a couple of hours of looking and talking together but we got it done. I also can cancel the room up until the 21st August (for free) so again no money spent, no obligation.
We know the dates in advanced as they are the same every year, every team member was told at the start of this season when we were trialing in April we had plans for LANs and asked if they could attend and every one we eventually recruited (or was on the team originally) said they could. Some of us work, some study but we all had this time free to go, I myself put my holiday request for the Friday in at the start of the year.
We looked at our travel plans and how much it costs, what they need, what days they leave, when they arrive, every detail for travelling / cost can be estimated down to the pound easily. We had the fundraiser on Muuki's stream planned for a while, all we needed were confirmation from Mr Epic his Visa will be accepted (still not guaranteed but he has to do this 3 months in advanced anyway) and of course Multiplay to announce it. If they said it wasn't happening and we decided we didn't want to come as a result, we scrap the Travel plans, I cancel the rooms, Mr Epic still wanted to go either way so no money lost from him.
It of course helps that we have 3 Brits on our team and that only 1 or 2 of us have any financial difficulty making it, but we knew as early as 2-3 months before announcing it was do-able and planned the details and decided we would do a fundraiser to help those who couldn't come. The only risk I have is the fundraiser target not being met, one I am sure Froyotech understand well.
I realise why your team isn't going, people have to make choices and that's understandable, but you can't use Multiplay's late announcement as an excuse for not going. Your team didn't want to go, simple as that. If you did, you would have planned it.

You're going to LAN down the street not across an ocean. It changes literally everything about what would be considered "reasonable planning." If you really want to prove me wrong, go ahead and book everything for your entire team for Rewind LAN right now despite the fact that no information about an official TF2 tournament happening there has been confirmed.

Since this is just a petty whinefest about who has it the hardest in life at this point, dont russians have some extra complications to go through to get to lan (which is the case for lowpander)

It would be understandable to comprehend b4nny's struggles but after that famous speech of ''dodging lans'' with a certain player from denmark, kinda makes you look at things differently

Starkiepurely speaking for myself, the reason I rejoined seven was to have the "proper" NA vs EU lan

Could we get an update from starkie if he will still play?
