think of it like zbryan's fast rollouts on certain maps. does he do the jump all the time? no, but that doesn't mean it isn't something in his arsenal. does memphisvon run shotty all the time? no he runs it occasionally, but he has it for when we/he needs it. not practicing something means you're only limiting your options. stop thinking restrictively and maybe you'll actually make more gains in improvement.

This isn't actually an argument in favor of keeping the gunboats banned on the dm server, although I do agree with you in theory.

also hey, if you don't want to practice your shotgun, don't use it. it's not hard. if you seriously need the extra 20 hp after rocket jumping, you should probably consider a actually dming and not just jumping on people's heads.

radiumgunboats are literally the new standard outfit - and for that reason gunboats should probably be permitted in DM. It isn't my server though.

You don't have to practice taking less damage from rocket jumps. You can play exactly the same in a dm server jumping and taking 40 damage instead of jumping and taking 15.

However you do have to practice hitscan in order to improve. And like blank said, if you don't practice your hitscan you won't be able to use a shotgun well when it would be beneficial. (i.e. defending gpit B)

Don't limit your abilities ingame because you're too lazy or too close minded to practice something.

On a serious note, you usually come here with useful information. Then you started a shitfest by complaining about a laser gun that isn't banned in esea. If I were to guess, it's not a good weapon to practice your aim with since you have to lead it, unlike a shotgun where you have to track. BUT THAT'S JUST MY GUESS.
