Nine teams entered this season looking to make their mark on NA’s premier TF2 division, and now only 2 teams remain. Ascent and froyotech will battle it out tonight for the largest slice of this season’s prize pot and the title of North America’s best. Through roster shuffles and rebranding, all of it will be left behind in the Season 25 invite chapter after this series.
Now onto some recent invite Grand Finals History: This will be the fourth consecutive time in invite playoffs that froyotech, lead by b4nny, has faced off in the grand finals against a rando/bdonski team. And of those 4 previous grand finals matches, 3 of them (being in seasons 21, 22, and 24) were decided after a bracket reset by the team that needed to win two best of 3 series of maps. Additionally, only in season 21 did the challengers coming from the lower bracket (froyotech) manage to win the grand finals after 2 best of 3 series. Ascent (known as RONIN in season 22 and EVL Gaming in season 24) did manage to force a bracket reset, but were unable to secure another series win.
Your casters will consist of Cornpop, Row, and Marxist. Nicell will be managing the rest of the stream, and your analyst panel will consist of Jarrett, Shamoo, and Marmaloo. All of the action can be found on TFTV1, and this is certainly a series that you will not want to miss.

Hopefully this series won't go on for 7 hours (or however long it actually went) like last season
Idk how saam did it but I would have fallen asleep at my keyboard sometime during the last map

If something is certain in life is that Froyo will loose on Snakewater
Unless they are playing se7en, then they'll take that map 5-0

Most normal people age 16 and older have jobs and a real life outside of video games so the later start time accommodates most of the players.

uhhh
well. as someone who has had to go to bed midway through the last four grand finals so i can get enough to sleep to work at my real life office job that starts at 8am, uhhh.
viewer counts back me up. a much smaller group of people are still watching at ~3am.

I'm pretty sure the majority of tf2 players are teenagers who don't have jobs and are still in school

You have a valid point, but at the same time what is more important, viewers or the players themselves? Without viewers the game goes on. Without the players there is no game to view.....

I agree with that, however the 2 teams in the grand finals that statement is NOT true
Sorry for the double post :(

Taking last seasons grand final as an example...even if they started at 7 pm est which is fuckin 4 in the afternoon pst it still wouldnt have ended until 2 am. People have jobs dinner and other obligations. Grand finals that go until the wee hours of the morning is the price you pay for online finals. Hell, i remember the gxl i rang for froyo had grand finals starting at like 2 am or some shit

Also I think the fact that it's on a Thursday night and not a Friday night makes things a bit tougher for the players. At least on a Friday night people can use the weekend to recover, while a Thursday game going into the early Friday morning hours is certainly more brutal on people that have work/school that next morning.

i always wondered why not one bo3 per day. i know players hate weekend matches so that's not really a thing, but a lot of teams have multiple matches per week at least a couple times in the season, so that shouldn't be a big deal to have the first part on tuesday and the second part if needed on wednesday or whatever
Predictions for the series?
I reckon for the first series Ascent takes Snakewater 5-1/5-2, Froyo then responds with a 5-1 on Granary. I feel its a toss up on Product, I could see either team realistically winning.
For the Second Series its either a 5-1/5-0 for either team on Sunshine. This used to be a solid Ascent map but recently its swung in favor of Froytotech. Both times the team in favor won quite handily in a 5-2 5-1 fashion.
I'm feeling a Froyo 4-3 on Process realistically and then on Badlands like 5-3 for Ascent.
I'm a bit unsure on Process and Badlands as those have switched hands more often than the others. This is all assuming we get this far in the series

@glass, in the past it has been discussed to do just that - with the prerogative being left to the players themselves, and so far they've invariably chosen to continue playing. I assume the option simply isn't on the table presently because ascent and froyo have done this a few times now ;) and so far they've always gone straight to the second set.
wait so how does this work? there's 6 possible games in total what if froyo wins the first set and ascent wins the other?

froyo has the advantage coming from the upper bracket, so they only need to win 1 bo3, while Ascent need to win both.
