Via HLDS:
Valve- Fixed the firing speed for the Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol (now faster)
- Fixed a client/server crash related to contracts
- Fixed a server crash related to taunting
- Updated The Dragon's Fury such that extinguishing a teammate will return 20 health to the Pyro, matching other flamethrowers
- Abandon/disconnect dialogs now show controller hint icons when Steam Controller is active
- Removed trade restrictions from the Prinny items
Rumor has it:
- HUD file updates for those dialogs, and local syncs of Steam Datagram system configuration changes and the item schema: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-TF2/commit/4f7b3c9b10232e4a6c42fb96b3b77361f4b296eb

I like that they're fixing issues with the Steam Controller, before the Jungle Inferno update it was basically unplayable (going to votekick someone would result in your player still moving and shooting, after a match it would still think you're in combat and not work etc)
air control fix when
whats broken?
is the idea to make the firing speed faster so tracking is harder so a smaller percentage of shots is hit? that would be a small indirect nerf to the health bonus, assuming you aren't shooting at shitty players in which case it's a buff
edit: thank you for downfragging me for asking a question

ok anyone who says firing faster is a nerf is silly. if you're that bad at tracking you can take your time to hit your shots by tapping instead of holding m1. you just have the option to fire faster now.

That's ridiculous. But I just noticed that description says "up to +7 health" on hit. Perhaps it's also supposed to be affected by damage fall off?

Like 49 HP in ~1 second. Better than the goddamn Black Box.

because what this game needs is even more ways to immediately neutralize all choke point damage
having a firing speed buff on top of the HP gained, when your single drawback is a clip size still noticeably bigger than the winger's, is some really goofy design. the HP buff on its own was already way too good

Do people really not consider the fact that every second you're shooting the pocket pistol you AREN'T shooting the best weapon in the game? I'm gonna run it in scrims and matches but it really doesn't have this god tier usability that everyone seems to imagine

it's pretty op dude, it allows you to just s+m1 out of any situation.

in most fights you only use the pistol after you use up your scattergun clip, and in those positions you're bound to live significantly longer when that's usually supposed to be a scenario where you're at low health
like this is a weapon that makes dealing enough damage to the enemy even harder (both from the weapon itself and the medic being able to spend more time healing everyone else as a result of it), and it buffs the best class in the game. it's gonna get thrown off a cliff the moment people use it seriously

the only thing i really got from this is that those scouts kinda wiffed hard and had trouble finishing a kill
sure the health did help when the scouts did land a shot (bc they hit him for like below 20 damage mostly) but in about 9 other scenarios ud probably die before u can really live that long with the pistol sapping health because a scout in that situation SHOULD hit a nice solid shot to finish you off
(if u saw when he was at 9 hp and got his hp back up to 44, he was hit for 9 damage [down to 35 for like a split second]. this wouldve killed him but because of the health he got he was able to live for roughly 3 more seconds so i get your point of how its kinda annoying how he gets that health back, but it still isnt that helpful because again he bought himself 3 extra seconds of just delaying his death)

the only point i'm getting is two scouts somehow weren't able to kill one scout averaging ~40 hp
like one ok shot would've killed him, i'm just seeing whiffs

thing is, he was in a position where any one of those stray shots should have killed him, because he was a scout that took a meatshot and was at 9 HP, but he still survived. it's an exaggerated example and in practice it won't be that much longevity, but the point is that positions where you should be completely fucked are positions where you can now survive
when the glass cannon is no longer made of glass, that's a really big deal

thing is, he was in a position where any one of those stray shots should have killed him, because he was a scout that took a full meatshot and was at 9 HP, but he still survived. it's an exaggerated example and in practice it won't be that much longevity, but the point is that positions where you should be completely fucked are positions where you can now survive

i get that its just the example used above is kind of a bad one because its not showing how the pocket pistol shows a difference in outcome, i understand that the pocket pistol will now save scouts in SOME situations where they should be dead it probably would not be enough to cause a major difference in any match. there will be outliers that show how that one play turns the tide of an entire game, but realistically, there will be very few
also scout was never really a glass cannon. he does get a bit more bulk now

it's supposed to do the same thing the black box does where the hp you get back depends on how much damage you did
except valve messed up so you just get 7hp back if you tap someone from the opposite side of the country from you

so the gun is not OP because you can't use your primary at the moment!? you have to compare it with the stock man
(not like because the PBPP is so good now people will start to put away the Scattergun and use pistol the whole match)
Scouts use pistol to: long range spam or finish off weak player;
not just Pretty boy does those stuffs better thanks to fast firing rate, but you also gain health (guarantee 30-40HP every clip), and the downside is just having 3 bullets less
even if they fix the health bug, you still gain full 7HP in medium range, just like the Black Box (20HP for 90dmg)

my friend played a game with the pretty boy's pocket pistol and compared it to a second primary with how effective it was and how often he used it.
