Hello Team Fortressers. I'm a little late as this has been out for a while but I made another short film and I was hoping to have the TF community send a few views and some criticism my way.

You can watch it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYp4aSStErg

Please tell me what you think and share with anyone if you think they would like it or... if you think they could make fun of it.

Thanks fellers

this was a pretty good watch, it definitely does more things well than it does bad, but i do have a few critiques i could give. first and foremost, the worst thing about this was the audio, it seems like you guys recorded audio and video at the same time, so theres always this buzz going on during scenes where conversation is taking place, but then everything cuts off when you shift to music. you should try out using ADR (automated dialogue replacement) where you record your lines on spot and only use it as reference audio, then go back in a more controlled environment and rerecord the same lines, and lay those over your video in post, itll fix a lot of the awkwardness in your conversations. these next few issues are the nitpickiest things ever but you might find them useful, if you intend on using a widescreen resolution for cinematic purposes, resize your video in post instead of putting black bars on top of them, if you render the video with this new resolution the final product could come out like this when played on youtube https://i.imgur.com/ON5mCY5.jpg aswell, use a different font, it doesn't fit the tone of the video that well

also those shots at the table outside look gorgeous, this video has rly good cinematography

Thanks for posting, Blaine. I enjoyed watching the film. Got me proper fucked up on those high school nostalgia vibes

My advice is:
1) keep making things
2) try to be more considerate of the pace of editing. while on one hand we are in this 0 attention span, jumpcut hell of a modern world, and some slow edits can be refreshing, I thought this was the biggest thing that could improve the quality of your short film(s). dont think of it like you are making the pace fast, its more about trimming the fat to get the best bang for your buck from every shot. every shot is an opportunity to deliver new information to the audience, so know when there is dead space and consider for example, -> "maybe here, I should cut this shot from 6 seconds to 3 seconds, because the information conveyed is already obvious from the first 3 seconds, and hanging on the shot for too long might inadvertently break the audience's immersion"

Thank you. I definitely will make the audio better in future projects. This was a group project and I had to work with what I was given by my audio guys. I however do take blame for not really putting a lot of effort into Audio and I do want to stress that it is something I worry about and will worry about more. Thank you for a very constructive response.
