Cold is here and I have an issue with dry skin. Can ya recommend me some good product to keep my ashy face moist af what i be using is not that efficient :/ ty
I just use vaseline's face cream mainly because it's odorless and the bottle thingy it comes in was huge. But everybody's skin is different so I hear, so maybe there would be something better for you. I also opt for Rikachu's method of doing it pre-bed. Sometimes after work if I spent a lot of time outside. Another thing that really helped me was turning town the temperature of the ol' morning shower. Dousing myself with super hot water was murdering my skin cells wholesale.
#2 never tried that before I'll try it
And #5 I do have that bad habit of super hot showers on the morning but is a must for me during winter ;_;

I recommend a couple of products - a heavier night moisturizer that you rinse off your face in the morning, and a light day moisturizer. Also note that a lot of moisturizers are supposed to LOCK IN moisture, but don't actually hydrate your face. I recommend washing your face, or rinsing with water, and then adding in a moisturizer AFTER that. Please note that I am super into Korean skincare (I run a kskincare instagram), so these will all be Korean skincare products that are <$15.
A few recommendations (pictures link to amazon):
For a light day moisturizer: Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel is very fast drying and light. It won't leave your skin feeling greasy or looking weird. It's also great if you have any blemishes or discoloration - it's an all around great product that a ton of guys use, and it doesn't have any floral or feminine scent to it. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/714jFBw2ZAL._SY679_.jpg
For an any-time, in-between moisturizer: Nature Republic Aqua Max Cream. There are variations for dry, combination, or oily skin - I linked for combination since it deals with almost any skin type. This can be used as an every day moisturizer, or for night time if you don't need intense hydration. It smells like ocean, if you like that kind of thing. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51plJMQjXKL._SL1000_.jpg
For the "Oh shit I'm dry af please helP" moisturizer: CosRX Honey Overnight Mask. This will feel a bit sticky, and it will need to be washed off in the morning, but it does AMAZING things. It also smells like honey and yumminess. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/616ACgb2lPL._SX522_.jpg
If you want a short skincare routine, let me know that too - budget and goals, and I can recommend SO MANY PRODUCTS :) The ones I listed are good for every skin type.

what about u drinking more water, i never use any type of lotion other than after shaving.
Yeah I can understand wanting a hot shower in the morning, what I've gone to doing is using my typically hot water - but keeping my head and face out of the way - and then turn it to 0 heat for my head and face. I'm also on well water, so heating that stuff up causes lot of water soluble material to make it through the filter and can produce some unpleasantness (calcium that builds up in my hair, rust that can stain your hair red, black carbon that turns the water black, etc). So the cold water stops that stuff from dissolving into the water, and gives me a nice solid shock first thing in the morning that I find produces a slightly euphoric feeling and prevents my skin from getting upset.
I've got psoriasis and have to put moisturiser on my ears and face every day otherwise i shed like a lizard person.
I've got through lost of moisturises but not sure on the availability in the US.
I went through Diprobase, some nivea stuff, men "hydrating gel" and a few other chinese ones my brother bought.
The only one that actually works for me is Aveeno.
That's combined with Folic acid and Vit D. supplements, and thankfully I'm off the cyclosporin/methotrexate for now.
