Really? I am 99% sure a 3rd or 4th place team is going to be putting more work in then a froyo team currently. Just go watch some streams and it is not uncommon for them to meme out during scrims. Saying that you join froyo because it is a challenge is a little silly when they have had players leave for the exact opposite reason.

well why the fuck would they bring back lan if nobody gives enough of a shit to commit to playing the game without it?

Yeah ESEA used to have LAN because you could just piggy back of CS(Source at the time I think) so it was very little cost. They just had to ask alienware for 24 more computer setups than they did before (and even then there were some cases of TF2 players getting kicked off while practicing so CS players could complete matches).

Now there has to be a full on business justification for running TF2 LAN because you can't really piggyback off of MDL which is currently the big CSGO shindig for ESEA, which is essentially the tournament just below ESL Pro League. I think MDL finals have been run in europe as well for the past little while, so it wouldn't even make any sense to try and attach to that (completely disregarding the sponsorship issues).

It's going to cost someone a lot of money is the long and short of it.

Etney is looking for job opportunities that would prevent him from being able to dedicate time to playing tf2, so he left.

Zesty probably will be on backup duty like last season, I don't think he wants to play full-time.

Everyone else is staying, so we are just looking for one of a pocket/med/scout.

I don't really follow esea's amount of teams per season but isn't this near one of the biggest amount of teams in awhile? According to sign ups so far atleast. Does this increase the likely hood of a LAN? I know I'm from Aus too but if any esea team needs a player I'd be willing to scout to get those numbers up and maybe one day expand esea.
