LangeCharter may be shit, but I believe most of my problems stem from my particular Charter line being shared by all 68 residents of my apartment complex on hardware that cannot handle the demands.

ATT is not an option because they do not offer their fastest package here, which is the only one fast enough to stream on. You're right though, their costs are extortionate for the speeds delivered.

yeah sharing a connection with 50+ people just leads to sooo much jitter. wish you the best getting your net to work like it did :(

I lived with those kinds of speeds(on cable) for years. having shit ping prevents you from any kind of srs gaming which is much more annoying tbh

~7 years ago when i started playing cs I was with Bell and it was the worst experience of my life. Of course, back then I didn't really know shit about ping or netcode or anything so I didn't worry about it too much.
Let's just say that I thought pinging 150 to chicago was really fucking good.

I had really shitty internet for the past several years with no other options available in my area; however recently my stepdad got in contact with a friend who works for AT&T and now we're having uverse installed this weekend after said friend called in a few favors.

So my advice would be to ask friends or friends of friends if they can hook you up with dem megabits

U-Verse uses a fiber optic network which makes it really reliable. The only reason their speeds are disappointing (their upload speeds in particular) is because your connection runs through phone lines (or something I don't really remember) before it actually reaches your neighborhood's U-Verse node and fiber network. Otherwise, U-Verse would be just as expensive as FIOS.
