If DDoSing is really a criminal offense, why hasn't action been taken already? It's quite obvious that all three are either (a) collaborating together, (b) have knowledge that one of them is the culprit, or (c) are brain-dead maniacs causing more harm to the community the longer this goes on. Slin, if you really do already have their personal information, ISP, phone numbers or whatever, do the right thing. Report this to the correct authorities, get this taken care of right away. No more games, no more getting sent on a wild goose chase over the internet. Make some calls, make some people responsible for their actions.

i know mes he needs to do something about bunny asap!
What I will publicly say is that I do not have that information Mesr. That information is currently protected by privacy policies at the respective companies and I have passed on as much information and evidence that I could possibly pass. The proper authorities will take action.
As for my thoughts, if pocket really doesn't care about this situation then why'd be spend so much time talking to me about it. The story seems really dumb to me and ultimately all bullet and pocket have done is pointed fingers at random other people that they have supposedly heard rumors about DDoSing but only recently confirmed? The following people have intentionally tried to hide information, mislead, deny knowledge, or otherwise lead me on a wild goose chase: Bullet, MyPocketBlows_JM, Spammy. Mysteriousness is just a red flag. Everyone else seems to have been pretty straightforward with me.
Also Bape supposedly has DDoSing capabilities. Fucking baped_idiot

MyPocketBlows_JM: bullet did probably do ddos'ing but i'm really good friends with bullet
MyPocketBlows_JM: he would tell me he's ddos'ing you
After you said shit like this it's probably too late to try and shift 100% of the blame to another person. You said you're his friend and that he probably DDoS'ed, and then expect us to believe he's not the one DDoSing Slin because you're his friend and he would tell you?
I think you've incriminated Bullet as much or more than bunny with what you've said here and to Slin.

All I remember is that two of us lost all connection before a match we were supposed to play against Bape's team. Not pointing any fingers, but it was a strange coincidence, considering it was two of us who never really get connection issues otherwise, and the problems ended after we lost the game.
Also, I was streaming a week or so ago and some idiot myg0t kid kept following me around servers and hacking. Including the MGE iT server, where he lost even with speedhacks and got banned l0l

Well yeah I mean as far as pugs go everyone just changes their IPs, defriends suspected ddosers, and resort to inhouse/private pugs. Not sure what we will do about ESEA pugs though, which have publicly available server IPs.
Also don't take scrims from aliased or otherwise mysterious people.

I've noticed that as well Slin. The more disinformation or misleading stories someone seems to give, the more suspicious they are of a suspect. Since you've assured me the proper authorities will take action, I have no more interest in the matter. I simply want people to be responsible for their actions. With that said, I will reiterate my previous sentiments:

I'm pretty sure one of the Korean scholarships I received was indirectly funded by the Korean gangs in NYC. I will get them on the case. These DDoSers will find themselves in meat lockers by the end of the week.

If the attacks happen again, threaten to sue the ISPs or whoever you've already contacted for damages. Guarantee you that will speed things along quite a bit faster.

I imagine that would be looked at with a hearty laugh, not much-if any- of the ddos can be related to their actual ISP, since it's using bots from entirely seperate entities.
Also, bape is a ddosing cunt and somebody really needs to kick him in his goddam twat.

Stop using other people's names on your aliases you clowns.
It amazes me that you lie and deceive people with each action you take, and expect to be treated nicely by the community. Look, why can't you just play this game and allow the streamers and players to do their thing? Do you even know what most people actually use DDoSing for? As John mentioned earlier, they use it to take multi-million dollar websites down and make them lose money. DDoS is used as a form of protest, but what would a bunch of 15 year olds have to protest against? In the TF2 case, you are making streamers lose viewers and make them unable to distribute their content, and also robbing the players of their right to play.
I can't even imagine how you behave in the society if you can't even interact accordingly in an online community. I expect that me and other people in this thread will be getting DDoS'd for telling you to stop, but thanks for proving Slin's point.

a few things:
1. last season bullet literally said to rekuso "I will destroy you" and then began ddosing him and mangachu in scrims/matches (and I know for a fact it was both bullet AND brands ddosing TOGETHER at said time)
2. bullet tried to ddos vortex using his OWN ip address, which was how vortex got bullet's facebook, the same one that I linked earlier in this thread before it got deleted.
3. I've seen bullet, brands, AND mypocketblows all blatantly hacking in lobby at some point or another.
4. someone posted it earlier, but just to make it more public, brands aka bunny is "snowy" on randy and chums
tl;dr all 3 of these guys are clowns, you should ostracize all of them from the community forever
p.s. can I post bullet's facebook again? pretty please?

So I was mainly curious as to what the penalties associated with Ddosing were - turns out it's worse than anything I've ever done:
You should contact your ISP with as much information as you have available to you (the IP that is attacking you for example).
At which point they can be subjected to jail time and fines
For example the gent that ddossed the Scientology website had to pay a 30,000$ fine and spend a year and a day in prison.
The guy that ddosed Fox news had to pay $10k in fines and got 30 months in jail.
Even in countries with less emphasis on jail time - like the UK - still hand down 6+ month sentences for ddosing.
Also @ sal... Apparently you can't file suit for ddosing unless the financial loss from the ddosing aggregates to $5k in the US anyways. I came across that in the law that's used to prosecute (that was mainly meant to deal with cyber attacks against the government which has subsequently been applied to private computers). Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, or 18 U.S.C. §1030.
Interestingly enough it looks like you can also be prosecuted for aiding and abetting ddos attacks so anybody who is remotely involved in this could likewise be prosecuted for aiding and abetting.
I'm tempted to make a Slin head photoshopped onto the punisher's body :(

Dave_I'm pretty sure I still have bullet's (real) ip and his isp + isp's phone number saved if you want it.
I'll take you up on that offer. Make a TPS report. Last I checked his toronto ip isn't a vpn.

Someone linked this to me because I run an IRC PuG and they thought I might want to know. Or something.
By page 4 I'm now super confused about whether this is something my little intermediate highlander pug really needs to worry about.
In summary:
Some trolls who have ESEA beef are messing with people using IPs they got off of pug.na, using a program they purchased online?
You're giving somewhat legit, but somewhat fearmongering advice about how to protect your IP in IRC as a result, as well as posting the profiles of the people who did it.
Moving on:
As an admin of a different community, I don't worry so much about the identities of these specific perpetrators - I'm sure they DON'T care about intermediate HL, and probably won't troll me or any of the people I want to protect. However, I would like to know how to protect my players from this sort of thing, as there may be "copycats" who decide to target other players.
This said, "security by obscurity" doesn't work, as someone mentioned earlier. This is part of fundamental security theory. Masking the IPs of people who join my channel isn't necessarily the right way to protect my players. Also, their IP is fully visible in any server logs, which I can't control. If you connect to a server after logging starts for that round (after the cfg is execed), your IP will show up in the matchlogs, downloadable from logs.tf - IRC is CLEARLY not the only problem. It is incredibly difficult to protect your IP from people and still play PuGs, and perhaps not a worthwhile goal at all.

I was able to circumvent this issue entirely by parsing out the lines with IP addresses within the tf2.pug.na bot before uploading the logs to our stats site. If you use an IRC bot for uploading logs from servers, add me on steam and I'll give you the code for it (It's written in ruby but should still give an idea of what to do)
