i think that even if epic games bought out tf2 they'd probably put more effort into fortnite than tf2 in the same way that valve prioritizes csgo and dota, its their biggest project and probably biggest moneymaker

and then tf2 would get a battle royale gamemode

considering how they neglect ut4 atm I don't think you'd get the results you want if they bought it even if you mean it as a joke it's just flawed logic.

That's not how it works
Epic Game devs are knowledgeable in their flagship Unreal Engine, they can produce content fast because of their experience using it and the tools they've created to make that process easier

i think valve devs know how their source engine works, what's the relevance of that in adding more content

tf2 simply understaffed

rather have a passionate team working to improve the game, albeit slow, than constant updates from a dev team that would only look to drive in new players and turn the game to shit.

what really needs to be done is for valve to be a real company and hire people to work on the fucking game rather than letting employees play musical chairs with what games they develop.

As Phoenix21 said, considering how they pulled all of their staff from UT4(and Paragon) to work on Fornite and essentially left both of those games to die in favour of the latter, you'd be sorely disappointed. You're basically just looking at what effect a cash cow has on a games studio, which isn't realistic for every game they put out. And who's to say that in three years time when the barf royale craze inevitably dies down, the same won't happen to Fortnite? Don't forget that TF2 is over a decade old; Fornite is under a year old.

Although epic games probably aren't the best team to work on TF2 something of the sort could definitely be an improvement. I think the Valve News Network boi suggested something like this a while back and could realistically work if Valve kept getting their money from the Mann co store and community market because that's likely to be where most of their TF2 money is made. If the team that works on TF2 is successful then they boost valve's profits and they keep getting paid by valve one way or another so it's a big win-win.

fortnite also makes a shit load of money and is growing all the time while tf2 is slowly stagnating and i honestly doubt makes a profit any more

knowing valve, if it didn't make a profit then they would probably just forgo development as a whole. i think this game makes more profit than people give it credit for.
