for cloth mousepads i know that the SteelSeries QCK and Sloth eSports Mousepads are very popular and very good

they're overpriced as hell but if you can get a good deal/sale on one logitech G640 mousepads are really fucking great, logitech sometimes run promotions when you buy other peripherals to give you a free one and I know sometimes ESL has a promo code to get one with a logitech purchase they run during CS events they sponsor

I use this with a Logitech G402, fits well on there and I can use a 13.6 in / 360° sensitivity. It's easy to clean too (I never do it though as you can tell from the image) I've had it for 3 years and the only damage it has is that the cloth is ripped off (maybe 1.25cm x 2.00cm) and the bottom left corner. I never had issues with it slipping over the table either. Hope I could help you.

Gsr is known for its high friction (control mousepad not speed). Probably one of the, if not most, slowest mousepads. Also if u live somewhere humid don't buy the gsr. I would just recommend qck+ or heavy. That's ususlly the common mousepad everyone uses and likes.

PureTrak Talent, I've had mine for years and it barely shows any signs of wear.

ive used qck in the past but never again as they wear out fast and stain easily turning all white
i´m currently using a Glorious XXL Extended and so far so good still looks like new but not a big fan of the grip
the best one i can recommend was the one ive used before, the Perixx DX 1000 i´ve had one for like 3 years and still performed as it was brand new, its dirt cheap, its big enough for your keyboard and mouse and if you feel its wearing out just turn it around and boom new mousepad

has anyone here used an artisan mousepad? i was thinking of getting one but i cant find too much on them.
and also to OP, i had a razer goliathus which lasted me for years so I recommend those

QCK+ after about 3 years of use and multiple washes. The only wear and tear is at the middle near the bottom where my arm usually rubs on it (way more noticeable on the pic than it is irl)

QCK/+/Heavy blows but the QCK limited is good. The regular QCK and QCK+ don't have stitched edges and are therefore prone to peeling.

Glorious PC Gaming Race and SlothMat are also pretty great from my exspirience. Artisan supposedly make the best pads money can buy but they cost an arm and a leg.

QCK+ I had used for 2 years has some peeling
QCK Heavy I have used for ~18months + 2 years at work no peeling
QCK XXL going on ~3 years (honestly didn't realize I've had it this long)

QCK Heavy i used lasted 6 months and started peeling. This seems to be about the normal lifespan for all my non stitched pads. Do you rest your forearm on your pad or no? That probably has a significant impact on how long non stitched pads will last for you. TBH i don't see any point in getting a non stitched pad when stitched pads cost about the same.

I used to rest my forearm on my mousepad the entire time I have a qck+ and qck heavy I did and I still do at work, but at home I have my mouse pad about ~6 inches away from the edge and I have a smaller mouse pad there for where I rest my forearm, this mousepad is a cheap monoprice one that also doesn't have stitched edges and also has no fraying.

not that I'm disagreeing with your point entirely though. Mousepads really should have stitched edges at the price point gaming mousepads are sold at.

my puretrak talent peeled on all 4 sides (in less than a month) so yeah lol.
cant stand qck+ cause it rolls up while im playing unless I hang it over the desk, also mine has hella flat spots. won't be a problem if you don't rest your wrist, I guess.
qck heavy is fine for me, never had it peel even though its not stitched (several thousand hours on it..)
I prefer something with less friction like goliathus speed for soldier though.
artisan is too small
gsr gets annihilated by humidity or sweat

I own one but I use a puretrak talent I bought from vand(?) a while ago. I'll probably buy another puretrak if something happens to this one
