sharky_Everyone seems to hate engi but the real enemy is medic.
Honestly fuck ubers they're the reason last stalemates are so boring and they take literally 0 skill so it's boring as fuck to use too.
There are some cool mechanics on medic though so I wonder if it'd be feasible to only allow the vaccinator in leagues. I'd genuinely be interested in feedback from league admins on this.

ubers are for breaking stalemates, this is elementary

HalMight removing sentries have the effect of teams being more reluctant to push out of last? The ability to have a scout swap to engineer and throw up a gun acts as insurance against a failed push out. Of course, this isn't something one thinks about when pushing out, but as teams get punished for pushing out a bit more, it seems to me that over time they will be slightly more reluctant to make the attempt. Might this not also have the effect of prolonging last stalemates?

I don't claim any expert knowledge; this is merely a hypothesis for you more experienced fellows to examine, then affirm or refute.

if valve brought back the sigafoo save engie would take real skill, that was a move that took immense knowledge of the class and the game's core mechanics, even branching into understanding of the building blocks that make up the Source engine. aside from that, the sheer timing and concentration required to pull off such a move makes it not overpowered as only the best of the best engies can manage to do it reliably.

OR, they could give engie a backpack dispenser/sentry combo. this would make him a versatile and mobile class while also removing the need for a clunky class like the Medic. if the backpack sentry was upgradable to level 3, engie could even use it to rocket jump with the wrangler and reach team mates to heal them with the dispenser

I meant that a team which pushes out unsuccessfully has the option of falling back on this tactic (assuming a scout lives), not that it would leave an engineer on last and deprive itself of forward force when advancing.
