so much for that global whitelist
okay but can I just get like an explanation from someone who was there and said "yes, I want the cow mangler back" like what was your reasoning?
Well first seeing this whitelist would make sens, i mean some of the items that were banned before should not be the case today, Dragon fury, rescue ranger (without wrangler) that has been unban, but what i don't really get is :
1- Items Still banned : such as BASE Jumper and Short circuit ( that has been nerfed since their last ban ).
2- Newly banned items : such as Sandman, Atomizer, Dalokohs bar, gloves of emergency; Pomson, Vita Saw and Darwin danger shield. What we could get from this is that ESEA is not trying to ban as little weapons as possible, and i don't even get why these weapons tbh, i mean Darwin Danger shield ? Really ? The Item that is only useful if you're facing a pyro in the other team, does it really need a ban ?
3- Finally Items that hasn't changed but got allowed : Machina (Mainly an upgrade to any weapons), Cow mangler (same), Natasha (tbh i would even see this one allowed, because it is not an absolute upgrade regarding other miniguns).
I'd like to get the idea of this whitelist really
edit: but i truly like the fact that at least some league changes their whitelist (Hi ETF2L, who is just waiting for people to say something about it to make it change, like why would blame Valve to update that slow if the league is even slower than Valve) i don't get this whitelist though.

I'll just say right now; I fully plan on abusing the hell out of this weapon. There is no way the mangler should be allowed in a competitive setting right now. Infinite ammo is incredibly powerful (There are so many times I see soldiers running around with their stick because of a lack of ammo and dying for it) and charge shots are very underrated. It's a lot more than it being just an upgrade from default; if that was the case, than people would want to ban the iron bomber, but I rarely see people argue that. Mangler is a pretty significant upgrade to default that crosses the line of being overpowered without adding anything interesting to the game.

b4nnyBefore you post, please actually look at the S29 whitelist. The only unbans were Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol, Atomizer, Cow Mangler 5000, Mantreads, Dragon's Fury, and Gas Passer. I'm sure tri can chime in on how the decisions were finalized, but it was mostly settled on after discussions during the preseason invite meeting where consensus was that adding this incremental batch of items would be seamless, which I'm confident you'll find that to be the case. Along with the other changes to the league structuring, this is best whitelist yet and should be the new standard that other leagues catch up to. Props to tri and ESEA for pushing for progress this season.
b4nnybotmodelolWhatever conspiracy narrative you're trying to weave has no basis in reality. There were representatives from every single potential invite team known at the time, and the entire thing was publicly streamed (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/303159134?t=1h41m04s lasts about 2 hours). If you had wanted to join in, you'd have been more than welcome. I get that your team was formed last minute and was unable to contribute to the discussions while they were still relevant, and that is far from ideal, but to be frank, even if you had been there and planned to contribute anything along the lines of "this item is annoying" I doubt you would have really made much difference in the outcome of the decisions.
the preseason invite meeting that only people you bothered to message knew about
So what your saying is everyone in the tf2 community has to watch your stream every night in order to know if their next season will be ruined? This is soo bad, why not take a community poll on tfttv? Maybe at make a post about on tftv about it . More people read tftv then watch your stream. And unbanning weapons isnt going to make any progress what? What "progress" are we talking talking about. Short answer is there is none just let everyone enjoy the game they like. Without you coming in and fucking everything up. Instead of you being selective with who you invite to your group and decide the fate of next season. Maybe you talk to everyone and not like >10 people. Your so arrogant its actually fucking stupid.

global whitelist should be etf2l whitelist, and no changes made to that whitelist without consent of both NA and EU league, so retarded moves like this are null and void.
Etf2l weebmins wanted coalplant and even they think that this is stupid lol
I think the cow mangler being allowed is a bad decision. It's basically a complete upgrade to stock so a) if the original is your preference then you're just at a straight disadvantage and b) if you prefer stock rl you are at a disadvantage unless you use this weapon which is a complete eyesore to gameplay. Also iirc the projectiles are a lot more difficult to see which is another needless advantage. The charged shots are fun to use, yeah, but other than that what does it add to gameplay? This "we need to whitelist as many weapons as possible just to the point the game is almost but not quite broken" mindset is so pointless. I sure am glad I don't play in esea! :)
I can sympathize with unbanning a few of the weapons (I don't think anyone's complaining that the Mantreads would be overpowered, though I get the controversy with the Cow Mangler), but this defeats the point in having a Global Whitelist. I thought it was a priority to ensure that every league is running the same whitelist?

Glad I can't, but have to say it's odd it isn't seeing as the Cow Mangler is unbanned which will have a larger disruption of flow in the game than any other previously banned weapon save the disciplinary action and quick-fix. The Cow Mangler 5000 is an even better weapon now than when it was banned last time, what makes anyone think it'll be ok now?

i am going to punch my penis until i pee blood if i drop to a charge shot ever again or have to deal with a soldier holding left click on choke for centuries

nobody was told that the weapon bans would be decided in this meeting, at least i wasn't because if i was i would have gone 100% and ree'd in the mic every time the cow mangler was even mentioned, the decision to unban these weapons was made by a tiny group of people that were in the right place at the right time, don't you agree that at least an invite-wide vote should be taken?

aren't the mantreads still majorly bugged?
equip them then equip the gunboats and you still have godlike air accel. that's a pretty serious bug that limits how they can be used and they should be banned for it imo.
