MYLESSo I took the scout image since I felt it was the best to work this. These are my opinions, some may like others may dislike.

Just noticed this, make the letters on the kill feed more vibrant, they seem very dark
Then it would look like mine 0.0

I think the biggest thing is the shaded box behind both the health and the ammo count. Your text values are already outlined/shadowed, you don't need the boxes to improve readability.
I understand that the boxes add symmetry to your hud and you may like them for that reason, but I don't feel like they add utility to your tf2 hud. They take up space, rather than making it easier to read. Also having the team color health cross and team colored bars under the health/ammo is redundant. In my opinion, you should use one or the other.
I also am annoyed by how big the team colored outline is on your health cross. Part of the problem is that you removed the gray cross background, which exposes the team colored cross when your health is low. The issue with this is that you can see the overlapping area on the colored bars. This isn't a huge deal, but it looks like this is something you smacked onto the screen rather than implemented cleanly.
I also think your killfeed could be a touch more vibrant. You outline self inflicted kills/deaths in white which is fine, but its hard to read the other notifications. This is pretty important for competitive play as you want to keep track of all players, not just personal kills.
I don't think your hud looks bad, but I wouldn't use it for various personal reasons. Making a lot of changes to your hud might make it look like other huds that you seem to despise from post #11. Honestly though, there is a reason that almost all popular huds look similar (eg. the layout of broesel, omp, rays, oxide, m0re, comm/flame, etc). If you want to make something original work then great, but your going to get a fair bit of criticism.

Just a shoutout to Blurr's hud, which I just recently started using and love. It's so good. ^^ <3
Regarding 7HUD though, I actually really like the black background around the health and ammo. While it doesn't add to the legibility of the text, I like the style aesthetically, and I recommend against removing it. Have an option to turn it off, but keep it as a default.
Echoing what others have said, for the most part, I like your hud. The font is nice looking, legible, and clear. With minor adjustments regarding the placement of all hud elements, this could be amazing.
What will really distinguish this as an ideal hud for people is customization. Something you could try is to echo Garm3n HUD in that you can release different versions with different placements. For example, Garm3n HUD 4mp and 7mf are extremely similar, except one places the health and ammo toward the center while the other is towards the bottom. Different people like different things. Just be smart about how you approach the customization, respect people's opinions, and keep working on this HUD.
Good luck.

Thanks to everyone who's written so far!
I have taken into account everyone's suggestions thus far, and many sound viable and make sense to implement. My decisions so far would be to just downsize the health cross for sure, but add the option to remove it. I would also keep the transparent boxes but add the option to remove it. I need to pizazz the killfeed a bit. And of course, optimize it for 16:9. More to come
Keep the suggestions coming!

Updated to v1.3 today. No aesthetic fixes yet, just bugs so far.

I actually like the health cross, but completely agree with everything else you said. If you made the health cross optional I would definitely use this hud

Updated for v1.4 now. Just a SteamPipe update, haven't had much time at all for TF2 as of late with exams and such.

v1.5 released! This update addresses the major aesthetic problem of the weird electronic theme. That is fixed! KotH timers and other game mode timer backgrounds have been altered to look a bit better. The Cerbetica font is much more abundant now as well, but don't worry, rays (the creator of rayshud) has been notified that some of my stuff will look pretty similar to his now. He is fine with that.

No longer updating. I recently acquired the blank version of yA_HUD and am rebuilding my own stuff off of that. It will not be available for release because I have a 16:10 Mac that causes many placement and font bugs for anyone who has a PC. I did enjoy making this HUD, and will take my new experience into working on yA.
Cheers,
Sevin

Could a mod delete this thread please? I'm going to re-release soon and I don't want it to be on this thread seeing as how I basically started from scratch again.

I'd just make a new thread in tf2 customization, looking forward to the new release!
