Following their 4th place finish last season, SVIFT.EU have decided to overhaul their team in more than one way, picking up counou from Faint Gaming EU and getting themselves picked up by Faint Gaming.
Last season was an overall success for SVIFT.EU, who showed promising results against the top teams despite the roster's new composition. While adapting to their new pickups initially caused them to drop some points in the regular season, the team successfully qualified for the playoffs in the last week of play.
Playoffs were a rougher affair, going in as the fourth seed up against the top seed Se7en. Knocked down into the lower bracket by the British powerhouse, they were ultimately taken down by Faint Gaming EU, who sent them out in fourth place for the season. Undeterred, most of the roster have stuck together for Season 32, albeit with counou replacing alba, and with the team brandishing a new organization.
Happy to announce our new TF2 EU roster for @ETF2L season 32, @ixy____ @FAINTcounou @Risingtf @PolygoN____ @SmirreTF2 @Ombrack_ please give them a warm welcome. #TF2 #EU #FaintGaming pic.twitter.com/PiV8mAidPb

counou has only played one season in the Premiership division, but he has already left his mark with a third place finish with Faint Gaming EU, winning himself the “Best Premier Division Debut of the Season” award. Noted for his disciplined playstyle on Scout and his proficiency with Sniper, he’ll be replacing alba on the upcoming Faint Gaming EU roster.
Originally part of the Saints team that played in Season 18 and at Insomnia52, alba had recently got back in the game, reaching Prem once again with The Bus Crew in Season 29, and sticking with them for two seasons and two LAN events, notably finishing in 4th at Copenhagen Games 2018 with the crew. Last season was the first time alba got off the Bus since returning to Premiership.
counou offered some words about re-uniting with old teammates, and staying a part of the Faint network.
For a debut season in Prem, Season 31 was a massive success. I love everyone on the old Faint, but sadly all good things have to come to an end. As for Season 32, I couldn't be more excited. Finally re-uniting with PolygoN_ after so long means that I am keen as ever and ready for any challenge in this upcoming season. Having the backing of Hobin and the Faint organization once again is also a huge morale boost and I can't wait for this roster to show what its capable of.
Faint Gaming's first foray in the EU scene occurred in Season 30, where their sponsored roster won Division 1, promoting them to the Premiership division for Season 31. A mesh of newcomers to Prem and experienced players, they were able to carry their good form at Insomnia63 and ultimately in the following ETF2L Season, ending in 5th and 3rd place respectively.
Faint owner Hobin shared his thoughts on staying active in the EU scene as well.
As much as we loved the roster from the day we picked them up, closer to the end of the season there were issues. They are all amazing players and I wish we could of resolved them, but sadly we couldn't.
This new iteration of Faint EU will be one to remember for sure. We have big plans for them and they are eager to work under us. Our expectations would be a top finish, as we had with our previous roster, as well top finishes at LANs. We truly wish the best for our old roster and hope they find a suitable place to keep their top tier skills going.
Following their latest bout of networking, the Faint Gaming EU roster is now:
- Scout: counou
- Scout: ixy
- Roamer: Rising
- Pocket: PolygoN
- Demoman: Smirre
- Medic: Ombrack
