This def sucks to be in the middle of... I think if anyones rep should be tarnished its the player that changed his name. We were just chilling and waiting for the enemy team and he rejoined under that alias without consulting anyone else on the team. I yelled at him for it but theres not much I can do about it sadly. I payed to play this season and im not going to miss a match because my teammates being a edgy 13 year old. Thats at least my two cents on this.

I apologize to you for my failure as a team sponsor to not (edited in "not", was sorta confusing) have you guys on a roster that I control, which would have enabled me to instantly kick the player in question from the roster myself ,and not have to rely on a team captain to make that sort of decision about player discipline on the fly right before a match starts. This incident has upset me, and I'm very sorry about this.

I hope Viper has apologized to you for his failure to step in and control this teammate. You are a team and you are associated with who you play with, you are right there alongside that player's name in the STV, wearing my tag.

Viper had control of this situation and could have kicked the player from the team roster, removing him from the match. You could have left the match.

Sometimes people need to learn a lesson, id prefer to keep toxic/racist people out of this community.

The disciplinary ban is on my ESEA account for bad mannering in a match during s29 playoffs where our demo repeatedly lagged out and the other team took the opportunity to exchange ubers during his ping spikes in order to take advantage of it, and ended with us winning the match 2-1. I'm not justifying what I said during that match, but I think it would be understandable as losing 4-3 in playoffs when your hopes for the team are much higher can be extremely disappointing.

I am not using an alternate account to dodge the ban, nor to play on two teams at once. I have not played a match on redemptionarc since the first two weeks of the season, and only remain on the roster because Virgil (who coincidentally was involved in the first disciplinary ban on the other team) was kind enough to pay my ESEA fees for the entire season, and I felt that it would be extremely ungrateful to leave the roster after she kindly spent so much of her own money saving the intermediate division (she paid for like 5 people at least)

As to the username, it was originally a joke in mumble that I planned to just "oh haha this is funny guys ill join the server with a dumb alias and mess with ppl then change it back" and then I totally forgot ESEA has a name change limit and was unable to change my name back afterwards

I fully admit that the joke originally was definitely not appropriate, but the intention is not to be actively hateful towards anyone, just shock comedy. also, the tf.tv post above is not me whatsoever or any account I have ever used

I hope this is a lesson to everyone about how absolutely uncomedic shock "comedy" is.
The shock in shock comedy comes from being offensive, hateful, or just a total jerk. Even if your intention was "humor" that doesn't mean your humor is any less hateful. People who think they're comedic geniuses for triggering the libs are really just people who get a kick out of degrading other people. If you truly recognize what was inappropriate about your joke, I would implore you to think again before you do something like that. Especially in the case of this specific "joke". Racism is pervasive in gamer culture, for some reason. People unironically use slurs in pugs and lobbies all the time, in my experience. So when you make a hateful joke, just remember that hate is not something far off in the past. It still exists today and we should be combating it, not co-opting it.

Sorry for the rant but I just really fricking hate shock "comedy".
