I have a 1060
Would recommend that if your budget is 200
Buy a GTX 1060 asap, the GTX 1660 will launch in 9 days so the 1060 prices will drop and you might have to buy one for less than 200$ if you wait for too long.

Wait im confused, doesnt that mean he should wait a little bit for the 1060?
I got a 1060 2nd hand and it broke after a week. Its most likely because it was 2nd hand but I decided to just get a GTX 980. It's cheaper than the 1060 and not quite as good but it definitely makes your computer look a look more sexy if you care about that kind of thing. Honestly the Zotac 1060 is a very soylent looking card. The GTX 980 on the other hand is the definition of Alpha

It's not as fast but I actually like it better than the 1060 Also with the GTX 980 you can get for $30+ cheaper as well however if you aren't one to care about how your PC looks and want the best performance then the 1060 is definitely faster.

Yes. Or if "200 range" means "around 200$" then 229$ MSRP might just about fit.

If your CPU ever breaks I've got a very alpha looking Pentium 4 for you.
i got my 1070 second hand for around 270 during the crisis.
if you find one that's lightly used, go for 1070. Otherwise, AMD if you want more freesync compatibility for future (rx 480 or even 500 series) or 10606 gb model. 1050 ti if you really really need something for cheap.
or wait for the new 1660 ti which is going to kick butt.

What's the point of spending all that money on an expensive gaming PC if it doesn't look sexy?
The GTX 980 and the 1060 preform pretty similarly in game and there is a very small difference in FPS. While the GTX 980 does use more power, it also looks better, sounds better and is like $30-$40 cheaper, easily the alpha graphics card.
I would recommend buying the one the guy posted above though that is a very good deal,

This might sound absurd, but having a good gaming PC that runs games well might be the point most are going for.

Do you mean the name sounds better or the reference cooler which has been used since the 700 series with minor updates and is still used on the 1060 sounds better than itself?
Because that's a hard no to both.

since we're already on this topic, is it better to use dxlevel 81 or 95 with the 1060? I have the 3gb one and was just wondering.

i have a 1060 6gb and to me it feels like 81 runs smoother but thats probably because i feel like dx9+ looks clunky as shit

Saying dx8 or dx9 is better for GPU x or y isn't really a valid point to make without knowing what CPU it's being paired with. You could have a pentium ii or a 9900k overclocked to shit, but without knowing that there's no real way to say which is better. Just run benchmarks and play soms pubs with both and see which you prefer.
