Any of you follow baseball? Real opening day is today, some pretty good games on. Dodgers v. Giants, Yankees v. Red Sox, and a few more. I'm staying home today and watching them split-screen on my TV. Unfortunately, MLB.tv doesn't show in-market games, which means I can't watch the most important one for me (Dodgers thumping the Giants.)
But it's still baseball, good wholesome clean fun. Watching the Brewers right now, and I'm also watching Strasbourg and Bryce Harper tear the Marlins a new one. Just found out I'll be in DC over the summer, so I'm trying to start following the Nationals. The Dodgers will always be my first love though.
Anybody else watching or following?

All this hype around the Jays I can't help but feel that they will crash and burn.

Cards Cards Cards Cards chaaarge!
Though I am looking forward to watching the Angels. Even though I still resent Pujols' departure, the Angels have such a lineup that you have to be the most bitterest of baseball fans not to be excited about Hamilton, Pujols, Trout, etc.

I love baseball, I'm a Yankees fan (boo hiss).
Is MLB.tv worth it? I never got it because it was sort of pricey. I'd like to watch more games though.

Red Sox Nation represent. basically not fucking falling apart like last season will be a successful season.
MLB.tv is worth it if you actually watch games. I got premium just so I can watch NESN-HD like 4 years ago and have not regret it since, granted my dad pays for it too. It also lets you get the mlb at bat app for your ipod/iphone/ipad for free.

MLB.tv is totally worth it if you're a baseball fan- any game any time? (pending blackout restrictions) Awesome. I like to have a random game on in the background while pubbing. And doing homework. And sleeping...
I love baseball season.

I want to care about this season but the Tigers are going to stomp the division anyway. I'll check back in in October ;)

I'm hoping that Tampa Bay can somehow pull together and get back in the playoffs, doubt it will happen though :/

I remember trying to buy the package for postseason only to find that I couldn't watch the games I wanted to. What kind of blackout restrictions are there?

RAYS NATION! I'm from the MLB-absent state of Indiana (made up of mostly Cardinals fans) but ever since their World Series run in '08 I have been watching them. Got several beasts like David Price (Cy Young Award) and offensive power houses like Evan Longoria. Definitely pumped for this season, plus i'm playing Varsity at my high school so looking for a Sectional, or farther, run too.

Yankee fan at heart, but just watching how brain cashman spends his cash is depressing
I like the mets, but they never really do well. A boy can dream. Once they're out I'll just watch the Yankees.
For having the 3rd highest payroll in the league, the Phillies look shitty this year. I guess we only have ourselves to blame.
They would have beaten the Braves tonight though if Hamels hadn't facecrushed.

So glad the Red Sox got rid of the cancer that was Josh Beckett. Everything's been going down-hill since they got Matsuzaka, I really hope the front office has realized that moneyball isn't how you win games and instead focus on real talent and team-building.
Looking forward to a good season even if they aren't in the race. This team has needed a fresh start since '08.

MY ASTROS DON'T CHOKE UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT
IT FINALLY HAPPENED
hopefully we'll finish better than last in the MLB

My roommate and I split it, so for us it was definitely worth it. Being able to watch split screen is really nice, I've caught something like 10 games in the day and a half since the real season started. The blackout on area teams is a downside though. I live in the Bay Area and I'm a LA fan, and my roommate's a Brewers fan, but whenever either of those teams play the Giants or A's it's blacked out. I've been watching the Dodgers on a stream of a Japanese sports channel which works well enough, but it's still disappointing MLB.tv won't run it.
So if you're outside the region of your primary team, it's probably worth it. If you have the time to watch the games, it's worth it. It's worth it just to leave on in the background as you do other stuff.
