The Fresh Meat Challenge #2 is a competition hosted by ETF2L. As the name suggests, the tournament is aimed at players wanting to get into competitive 6s. The prize pool is 120 keys, so there is some money on the line. Me and my friends decided to participate.
In the round of 16 in play-offs, we faced off against a Ukrainian team named [ՈoᗯЛаЯ ᗰOлЛИ](http://etf2l.org/teams/31770/). We ended up losing the 2 maps, but the enemy team had a suspicious player in their roster. [Match link](http://etf2l.org/matches/75447/) They had a private profile and were singlehandedly carrying the team to victory. We decided to report it to ETF2L admins, after which they banned him for being over experienced and gave us a default win, thus advancing us to the quarter finals. We were obviously pretty happy about that and we thought it was just an isolated incident.
In the quarterfinals, we fought a team called Digital Warfare Juniors. In the group stage, they played with a player that ended up being a cheater. ( http://etf2l.org/forum/user/91024/ ) The cheater was rostered on their team, however, the admins only gave them a default loss. Not even a warning. But alright, I get it, they may not be aware that their teammate's cheating, because maybe they didn't told them, so I'll give the admins a pass on that.
In the match we played against that team, they played with a guy named nicoapkm. So what's wrong with this player? He had UGC Platinum experience. https://imgur.com/a/HSbHsSh - nicoapkm UGC record , he was playing plat games for example - http://logs.tf/1895671 .Since this is a competition for newer players, using a platinum player in a match is obviously forbidden. Again, the player was rostered, it wasn't a merc. How did the admins even let them be in the team in the first place? They said they checked every team's profile the day before the competition to ensure every overexperienced player was kicked from the competition. Obviously, when we discovered that, we were pretty pissed, but also we were expecting another default win.The player got kicked from the team, however, the team was still in the tournament, and we were not given the win.Its weird that the winning team is the the one with biggest number of alt accounts/cheaters/overexpirienced players.Fixing everything after the event ends is pointless...
I just want people responsible for making decisions to do the right decisions, nothing more.

We got default lose because of the alt account and then we got banned. Not gonna say anything, we deserved that shit, yes. But man, team leader of Digital Warfare Juniors, I believe it was Offside, informed our team leader that we got a default lose and said something like "it's terrible, cuz If expirenced players play, new players won't learn". Imagine having a cheater and plat player in your team and saying this, fucking yikes man.

Offside is a quickybomb launcher mge main and has been in mid longer than I have been playing 6s.
The real fucked up stuff here is the admin stuff tho, shit like what dumm posted should not be how admins behave, especially when recent admin efforts in the community has been stomping out stuff like that (and with good reason, I'm not saying the masses should get to behave like that). That's before you get into the inconsistency of the way rules are being applied, which is a huge deal when it comes to competition. Then there's the fact that it's happening during what is for many their first competitive experience.

whoever lost against those guys shouldve been replaced back to the league that's pretty and unfortunate situation going around. community already knows offside is a dick and being dishonest against other people especially low-mid team captains who deny offside's scrim request, he should reform himself or admins should do something about it plus irrelevant but anti-cheat team should investigate loopy case again if possible.

I'm fairness, it's probably a ballache and time consuming to check every single player, so I imagine mistakes are made.

You should have mentioned that he was rostered on the team that only lost to SVIFT SA in S26 UGC and on top of that they placed 2nd in Chapelaria Season 3 again only losing to SVIFT SA - http://comp.tf/wiki/Chapelaria_Season_3/Legatus
Also you should know that if an admin is rostered on a team he/she cannot be involved in admin requests due to them possibly being biased and im sure it would be clear to other admins that he/she were being biased.
ETF2L made a mistake by having "bendable" rules to players entering fresh meat. Under the rules they made, Nico was allowed to play, heres why. UGC only has 1 division for South America, Asia, AUS/NA and Europe in 6v6. Due to there only being 1 division UGC gives plat medals for the single division seasons, you see depending on the number of teams that sign up each season they do tend to change some regions from 1 to 2 divisions. Some people who read this may remember when iron and gold was removed in European Highlander due to smaller numbers of teams entering each season.
The condition ETF2L used in the fresh meat competition regarding UGC experience was the following,
"Cannot participate if you played in UGC Silver/Premium or above (the number of UGC Iron or Steel matches will not be counted with ETF2L Open games)."
Having explained the 1 division system you can see how this is flawed. The reason at the time for writing the condition was due to UGC's poor way of tracking who has actually played what games. Due to there being 1 division, you cannot determine who would be steel and who would be plat etc. Therefore Nico was allowed into the cup. Now he has been banned its unfair to all the teams that had already faced him and maybe ETF2L should have changed the semi to be Eggy VS Foreskings.Fresh.
To finish with I would like to quote Bloodis about how ETF2L have acknowledged this cock up

They also got a disadvantage in the map picking process for the next match, but if you are rolling anyway this disadvantage doesn't mean anything.

Right, I'll go over this one point at a time. This has already been thoroughly explained in our discord, but I'll go over it again.

This is completly irrelevant to the case at hand. Futhermore, I don't believe we have ever banned a whole team from a competition when we caught one of their players cheating. Unless there is obvious proof the team was aware of the player in question cheating.

The player in question (Nico, https://www.ugcleague.com/players_page.cfm?player_id=76561198118334319) does indeed have UGC experience. However, UGC SA doesn't have any skill tiers. Trying transfer the skill from this division to our system is nearly impossible as there is no indication of how good these teams are. That being said, he did win or place near the top of the board a couple of times on top of having multiple seaosn under his belt. On top of that UGC doesn't count matches and thus it is impossible to do a total match count like we did for ETF2L players.
He did however not break the skill limitations set by us for this cup. This is a mistake from our part, we should have anticipated for South American and further for Australian players. Once it was brought to our attention that this player was playing in the cup we removed him from the roster as he clearly didn't embody what this cup is about.

MatZerThey said they checked every team's profile the day before the competition to ensure every overexperienced player was kicked from the competition. Obviously, when we discovered that, we were pretty pissed, but also we were expecting another default win.
We did check all teams for players with previous experience, most of this was done using a script since going over all teams manually would take a ton of time. Only ESEA experience had to be checked manually for people with an ESEA account, as their site is web scraping proof via ReCaptcha (I even got banned temporarily for doing to many searches on their site). Defaulting every game he played in this cup is simply not feasible as a big part of the cup would have to be replayed.
MatZerThe player got kicked from the team, however, the team was still in the tournament, and we were not given the win.Its weird that the winning team is the the one with biggest number of alt accounts/cheaters/overexpirienced players.Fixing everything after the event ends is pointless...
The team didn't break any rules concerning the use of alts nor did they break the skill ceiling rules. Therefore there was no reason to remove them from the competition.

Regarding dummtms screenshots we decided that it would have been a bit extreme to default the match, which would have led to them dropping from the tournament since it was a knockout stage match.
We basically told AustinN that his memes are aids and gave them a yellow card. Anything similar again and they will get dropped by us.
Mind that nobody actually used a slur in that match technically. The scoreboard had to be exactly in this order for this poor „joke“ to work.
Also worth noting that Iirc this was never reported by anyone, we stumbled across it ourselves.
So yes, the punishment seems weak at first glance, but the other option we thought would have punished the newbies that Austin clearly influenced so we decided to not screw over the other 5 players a but instead made clear that this behavior is not tolerated in our league should they participate in future competitions.
Imo it is a difference if newbies get baited into doing shit by their „mentor“ and a seasoned Prem veteran racially insulting a specific person on twitter.

What the fuck
I understand Pred, but iirc Degu got banned for liking a tweet and posting a picture of the Windows "Shut down" button. He also did not use a slur "technically". How is this any different?
On logs the order of the players is usually the same, so it doesn't even have to be ingame. Pretty predictable:

Newbies means new to the game, not to society in general. Austin's a video game "mentor", its not like there's an actual power dynamic there. Don't excuse their actions just because they are new to the game, they're all equally culpable.
Edit:

WTF dude. Do you think it was just an unfortunate coincidence? This isn't excusable or defensible, and I don't even see Austin apologizing for it.
