how im feeling after this week
I was not aware my team was home team this week. We were late so I acquired a serveme server and needed my teammates help to set it up so the match was gonna start late anyway.
Two or three of my teammates messaged the division admin on Discord and he was set to do not disturb and he was streaming. He shows up and is just like yeah you guys get a forfeit loss and says nothing else and then leaves.

If Tri was here this never would have happened.
Imagine running a league that cares less about TF2 than ESEA.
Edit: Also East coast players that won't play with over 50 ping are pussies. Also you probably would have won anyway and I don't know how RGL scoring works but if it's anything like ESEA you would have gotten more points.

RGL RulesIn order for a team to request a forfeit, the match must be past the start time and the team has been clear that they are wanting to start prior to the request.
What this means is that your team cannot be silent and then at 15:01 request a forfeit win. However if your team early on states to the other captain in, in-game chat that you do not wish to wait past that time. That would the groundwork for obtaining a forfeit win.
If you've made your intentions clear and it is past the match start time. Then you can start the process of requesting a match forfeit. In order to request a forfeit you must copy this exact text below into in-game chat. You should also contact an Admin that you are starting this process.
"We are past the match start time and have made it clear that we wish to start on time. We will get a forfeit win if you do not ready-up in the next 3 MINUTES, per RGL rules. You must have at least 5 players on your team in order to start the match. If you do not ready up in time, we will get a forfeit."
If the enemy team does not start up in time, get a “confirmation” from the admin and you may leave the match server.
Also why are people being given 1.6 points for a forfeit when the rules say 1.5 points?

Guitar messaged all 3 of the people listed as "leader" for server info at 10:30. He didn't get any messages until almost 11. It takes another 15 minutes for you guys to get a server. We get on that server and 4 of our players have 80-100 ping.
Now you're complaining in a public server and calling us "pussies" because we were tired of your lack of communication, when the mature thing to do would be privately contacting the admins again and ask them to reconsider.

You could have offered to have the match played on your own server even if you weren't the home team and then "high" ping wouldn't be a problem.
What really messed this whole thing up is that mechacop’s team was trying to contact diavolo (who was streaming and on do not disturb mode), and recurses team wanted an RGL Chicago server because 3 of their players had unusually bad ping to the LA server provided by mechacop, and they were contacting me (who discussed the situation briefly with another admin before issuing the ffw), so it was really unfair to the mechacop team for me to pop into the server and see that the game still hasn’t started after 40 minutes while also only hearing what was going on from recurse’s side of things.
Because it’s a paid league and you paid money to play tf2 not sit around and wait for the match to start only for it to be forfeit I invited both teams to rematch via steam message to both recurse and nightfaul (who I have added)
edit: fixed discord link
In the future, if an admin isn't responding to a time sensitive issue, then you should either reach out to the other admin of the division (Open, IM and Main have 2) or to our general support channel in the RGL discord. Not every admin is available on match day, but there will always be an admin around who can help you. it's also useful when talking to the other team to let them know which admin you're speaking with in order to cut down on confusion during the situation

I feel like this could have been avoided if both teams were required (in one way or another) to state which server they are playing on well before match time.
I'm also going to go ahead and take a little blame for this as I have 2 admins added (grapejuice and Daffodil) and it never once occured to me that maybe I should contact either of them.
Also, a PSA to other teams: Please be prepared to talk to other people on my team as Mecha is drunk 80% of the time before matches.

Haven't seen any of the new league stuff. But as some slight critism i think a good idea would be take the top 3-4 teams from adv and combine and make invite. Then combine ADV and IM to make IM, and then combine the two open leagues. Why there are two open leagues is kinda dumb. If you wanna make newcommer div on top that be fine. But my goodness its all too confusing if someone is brand new.
RGL prefers to make smaller divisions teams nearer the same skill level than having large ones with 30+ teams. It makes sense since when you have large divisions you do see skill gaps within a division. Overall the objective is to have more close matches than straight out rolls.
Inivite>Advanced>Main>IM>Open Prime>Open>New Comer
Inivite>Advanced>Main>IM>Open Prime>Open>New Comer
We created Open Prime because we realized there were a lot of Open teams that could’ve been IM, but felt it would be unfair to the teams to have to pay up for IM in such a short period of time, luckily there were enough teams to make another division from the teams we thought should be in IM.
