on top of this, rgl increased the price for advanced this season, and they are paying 4 teams this season instead of 6, and there are more players in the division too

i thought makka just didnt know any better when I heard $240 was the prize for first this season. I'm pretty sure there was at least $3k in the advanced pool alone, curious where all that money went. This is a serious transparency issue.

on top of this, rgl increased the price for advanced this season, and they are paying 4 teams this season instead of 6, and there are more players in the division too

To answer the question: it's because of LAN. LAN fees were added to pay for the venue and the winnings were distributed in a top heavy way to compensate for travel/accommodations.
To clarify, RGL paid to use space at helix as a LAN venue. COVID-19 made it so helix couldn't provide the service. The rented space is already paid for, so we are sitting on an IOU for a LAN at helix. We currently believe that a season 3 LAN is probable, pending further developments with the virus.

darn i can't believe I made money participating in a hobby I like. I had to pay 30 dollars for 8 weeks of entertainment + playoffs and then I made my money back.
