it's definitely not 'normal' to have pain. i lived a very long time with the same habits basically and had no such thing and I know plenty of others too. the first thing im going to try I think is desk height. my arms are actually like outwards (like a birdy) when I play because the desk is higher than my elbows and I rest my arms on the desk due to no armrests.
