#6 Lawena/VirtualDub Problem in Off Topic

We are talking files on the order of gigabytes per second. They can get real big real quick and fill up your memory like no tomorrow.

If you're wondering the math, each frame is about 40 mb in a tga sequence. If you're recording at 1080p 60 fps you're looking at 2.4 gigabytes per second. Using lagarith which is a lossless codec, it's a bit better but still quite large.

#2 Lawena/VirtualDub Problem in Off Topic

The files that you are looking at are fully uncompressed and hard to work with. You can have TF2 output compressed h.264 video which is easier to work with but it's not as high quality. However if you do want the highest quality possible, just put those files into your editor and make aggressive use of prerendering.

At this point you are highly limited on the amount of memory you have in your pc. The more memory you have, the longer footage you can prerender without issue.

#4 LF HUD in Customization

Brosel is really good and recently was updated. I would plug mine, but my 16:10 support is a bit dubious.

#12 120hz monitor(Ive looked at the thread.) in Hardware

ppl are right here, you can pick up a decent crt for next to nothing. They will always give you the best image for next to nothing, just done expect to be going to any lans with it.

Why don't you like those monitors? They are the generally recommended ones for a reason.

#22 Live stats for casters and streamers in TF2 General Discussion

You have to be able to execute a console command on the server. I don't think ESEA allows that at all so it would require their cooperaton.

I think it's been stated that this would be somewhat challenging to do because no one can actually tell if a pause is happening from server info. Probably way easier to have something like that in obs.

Livelogs has semi-private sourcecode, you could take a look at that, you just have to contact bladez. From what I've experienced, the developer of tftrue is happy to add features that help out the competitive scene.

Thanks.

I'd like to note that I'm currently in the middle of exams and just got out of the grand finals casting period for TFLIVE which I run. It's been busy, and I probably won't have very much time to work on hud stuff till the end of the month. In the mean time, please submit issues to the github tracker, that way I can, you know, track what people want done.

#4 kA_HUD with yA_HUD in Customization

I don't know exactly what this is. If the updates are interesting, I might consider adding them in as options or part of the main hud if they are straight up improvements. I'm not going to bother if I have to download it and sift through diffs to see what you changed.

#15 How do I cast? in Q/A Help

Is there any particular reason why you couldn't put it up with an explanation mana? If you put it on github, someone might even come in and make the rest of the hud for you.

Then again, I think it's perfectly reasonable to keep your casting hud private because you want to have your own look. I *think that's the case for vanillaTV, as they have their logo strewn about it.

#6 LF gaming laptop in Hardware

Yeah for sure look into 144 hz. Tekk in a previous thread said someone on his team (I think it would have been MGS so ask around those guys) had a Lenovo Y500 which apparently had 144hz. In general though, have heard really decent things about the Lenovo gaming laptops regardless, especially in the value for money category.
