#112 TF2 Feature Requests and Bug Fixes in TF2 General Discussion

If someone has already mentioned my bad.

They should really optimize the game in term of FPS. Not just like being able to turn off the cosmetic shit that eats FPS but really take a look a cvars and graphical settings and optimize them like they've done with CS:GO. No one in that game has a problem with keeping a consistent 120 fps or having to use an extensive graphical config if they've built a computer in like the past 5 years.

It would make the game so much better to play for so many people that their 3 year old computer isn't running an 8 year old game at 100 fps or below anymore.

#108 ESL and ESEA to host $1 million league in CS2 News

lpkane isnt dumb.

He has already stated he enjoys TF2 and having it in his league, hes kept it all this time even with a loss, the only reason he would be forced to drop LAN for it is because the opportunity with ESL is too good to pass up.

If he sees matchmaking and Valve support coming for a game he already likes and would have the potential to monopolize like he has done with NA CS:GO he'll go for it. TF2 might just have one season of limbo as things get sorted and opportunities are seen.

Don't be dumb and leave the game you've already put so much time into when the opportunity for big things is right around the corner.

Wouldn't it be hard to find motivation for a three-month invite grind at $95 if there is no LAN to reward a team for a top-half finish?

Yeah that is why I expect it would be lowered, but I don't work at ESEA so who knows what their pricing could be.

I guess ESEA TF2's essentially dead then

Its only dead if Invite kills it.

Open-level TF2 can be VERY alive if they have enough players paid. I worry that losing LAN causes people to lose interest in high-level TF2, though.

As of right now Open isnt quite as big as it was turning out to initially be. Still a good sized season, but not 70+ teams like we were hoping.

Invite fees provide a lot of money to ESEA for the TF2 division. I would imagine that fees would likely be lowered though. Regardless the thing that decides if Invite is dead is if the Invite players kill it.

indecencyi mean since the matchmaking might go off the same coding and UI as the mvm matchmaking, wouldnt this shit be packed and clogged and take up to 2+ hours to get into a match on release day just like mvm? :((((((((((

It would be much more likely its based off CS matchmaking. But we don't know, wait for the Fully Charged episode.

if theres no lan theres no invite

If Killing is asking if the teams would play without LAN then it means it would be online only, hence Invite is very much alive but without a LAN.

If Invite chooses not to play because its online only, which they can do if they dont want to play without a LAN. Then Invite kills ESEA TF2.

Simple as that. Decision is up to the players.

Lennon is actually really fun and a great guy. And is pretty good at the soldier man. He just happens to give everyone the first impression that he is a retard. Try him out.

#43 Steam now has paid workshop mods in Off Topic
2ckirbyA lot of his posts are leaving me in a weird spot. On one hand, I understand a lot of what he's saying, but at the same time I don't see why any of this is necessary.
its the exact same thing as paid cosmetics. unimaginitive retards will whine doom and gloom while content creators will make the big bucks now that they finally have a platform to release on

he's not going to post "well look you retard, we gave people the chance to make cartoon hats and now a lot of them make 200k a year so i think this strategy may be more viable than putting a donation button when catering to a market that that still has >50% adblock on despite constant appeals from ~the sites they love~".

it should all be common sense that this is direction steam has headed for the past 3 years or so. you're basically looking at a preview of dota's custom map system

This is literally the farthest thing from paid cosmetics its unbelievable you can act so condescendingly on this thread without even having a shred of understanding of what this is.

These are not supported by the official developer, unlike Valve and cosmetics. This isnt content that is official, you are paying for unofficial content that is literally just being hosted by Valve, not certified or quality proofed.

If the mod gets broken by a patch by the actual developer, and you are out of the 24 hour refund period you lose your money. There is no consumer recourse. There is no developer support, many mods contain copyrighted content since they are not developed professionally and have no sort of legal agreements for fair use.

Comparing paid mods to cosmetics is actually one of the dumbest things I have ever read and it would be excusable if you weren't such an ass while being so ignorant.
