Anyone planning to go? I live near the venue but I was out of town last year so I haven't been yet. Would be cool to meet up with some people, maybe.
Also, does TF2 stuff happen at this event at all?

I really did try. It wouldn't show unless it was a bazillion pixels tall.
I'm sure someone did this already, but have a graph anyway.
I love Archery! Picked it up as a hobby a few years ago, my bow is a 62" recurve. Unfortunately, when I moved from WV to DC, I no longer had a large backyard in the woods to practice in. So now my bow collects dust. ;_; There's ranges I could go to, but none of them are nearby which kind of sucks. Hoping to get back into it someday.
Awesome write up.
Bear with me a little here, because I'm slightly drunk and I may not make sense. This was my first year playing competitively, and it was wonderful to meet so many new friends in the community and see all of these really interesting events taking place. Today at work, I was talking to a coworker who was curious about the ins and outs of comp TF2. While I was explaining it to him, I realized just how much the work the community itself puts into keeping this game's comp side alive and well. Kudos to all the guys running things, for sure. And kudos to everyone who is still invested in this game and keeping it alive/supported. I'm really excited to experience 2016, and whatever it may bring. :D
Happy new year everyone!~
I was gifted The Orange Box on Steam by a friend when I was like 17-18ish, so I had to make a Steam account. First I played Portal, and then HL2. I was nuts about both those games. I didn't touch TF2 for awhile because I was scared of getting yelled at for playing poorly, but once I did start, I was hooked.
It was all downhill from there.
What a fun idea! Looking forward to listening to this for sure.
EDIT: Just finished it, was pretty cool. A+
Speaking of drones, they are now banned in a 30 mile radius around DC. RIP hobbyist groups.

Oops, I only just now saw this. Went ahead and applied! Better late than never? :D

She likes to beg for attention when I'm trying to game.
Achieved a lot of my 2015 resolutions, just need to finish some of them up in 2016 and keep improving myself where I can.
The basic list:
-lose 20lbs
-make more IRL friends/get out a little more
-improve my DM, then play Scout in Open
Already decided to pick up Crypt of the NecroDancer, it seems like a lot of fun. Will probably grab some other stuff once I get a chance to look over all the deals.
torritMagikarpIRC wasn't really easy to usecare to explain?
to this day, i still think that irc is one of the most straightforward things to use
In my experience, many people struggle with the initial setup of IRC and the use of text commands. It's probably a little more involved than they are used to. Also, I think a lot of "How to setup IRC" tutorials are very lengthy/detailed, so there may be more perceived difficulty than actual difficulty.
That being said, people these days really just want to be able to put in a username and click a big green "Go" button. They don't want to worry about knowing commands or doing a bunch of extra stuff, which I think is totally fair. Simplicity is really nice.
Granted, there are clients for IRC that make it that simple. I like to use KiwiiIRC sometimes, it's pretty neat.
This has been a good year, indeed.
- First year playing competitive. Pretty pleased with how far I've come in terms of skill, but I still wanna get better.
- Made tons of new friends.
- Grew a pretty fabulous indoor herb garden. (But seriously, does anyone want some Basil? That stuff doesn't stop growing ever.)
- Survived all the bullshit that life likes to throw around.
