whymeoWell I guess our team is dead now seeing as we have 4 people who have watched an anime before and one person who really likes k-pop.

Spacecadet is the only thing holding our team together.

In that case Blanc has been on life supports since it's inception.

#9 Can TF2 run on 2 gigs of ram? in Q/A Help
heksHi tftv, I'm building a super cheap PC and I'm trying to get it under $150(yes I know it's not going to be amazing or anything and I don't care about running new games, only tf2 and csgo.) and I'm buying parts one at a time since I'm a teenager and don't have a lot of money to spend, I was wondering if I would be able to play matches/scrim with 2 gigs of ddr2 ram for a week or two without wanting to kms. The CPU is an AMD Phenom 2 X4 945 @3.4ghz.

pretty similar to the 1st PC I started playing HL with. A Phenom 2 X4 940 black edition overclocked to @3.2GHz

Yes, tf2 will run on that. If you play HL expect 45-70fps on midfights, if 6s 70-90fps on midfights with a FPS config, and no hats mod, running Dx8. Also pls don't spend more than like $60 on this the phenom 2 X4 945 is a roughly 9 year old cpu, and DDR2 hasn't been used in even mid-range PCs since about 2008/09 (just to clarify don't spend more than $60 on an entire PC that contains those parts)

#2 NEXT GEN NEWBIE MIX MEETING FRIDAY AT 9:30 in TF2 General Discussion
KevinIsPwn“should we still use mumble”

I personally feel conflicted about this.

Mumble has some great features such as overlay which is quite helpful when getting to know a new team.
While Discord has way fewer steps to actually join a server and talk to people (once you have an account that is).

also pretty sure mumble delay is still -slightly- faster than discord but that doesn't matter for newbie mixes

-edit-
Discord also doesn't(didn't?) support push to talk unless you have the desktop app.

earliershadesHello, looking for a mouse that is similar to the wmo 1.1a in dimensions/shape and has the features of a modern gaming mouse (nice sensor, 1000hz polling rate etc). Any suggestions?zowie za series

for those who have the guts, skills, and dedication...

#11 daily lft - high/mid scout in Recruitment (looking for team)

I really enjoyed playing with this guy, will be a high-open scout for sure.

#1 Comanglia LFT probably Scout in Recruitment (looking for team)

Looking to play Scout maybe Roamer preferably top 4 Open or Mid-IM

I mostly prefer a more combo oriented scout, but I can play flank as well.

Pros of picking me up
-made a config that people like
-possibly help people with PC/Internet issues
-decent at DM (for scout, soldier is pretty rusty)
-actively try to improve my calls, positioning, and map knowledge

Cons of picking me up
-You have to deal with people commenting about my config, I'm okay with it but you've been forewarned
-human and can tilt
-an autistic sniper main
-use the natascha on heavy

#31 Critique this whitelist in TF2 General Discussion
MakMy thought process was if it is shit dont allow it either. Not my fault valve make weapons that you only use to BM teams u r rollin'.

I'm 50/50 on other banners.

Heatmaker is basically default anyway.

Widowmaker rewards shots on target.

Market gardener should be banned anyway stupid weapon.

Also sage I disagree with you, if anything phlog should be the only one allowed with default - degreaser and backburner just encourages meme offclassing.

Yet the chargein' targe is fine? lol

banning the triblemen shiv? why, I mean it's not like it matters a whole lot but it's not a "bad" weapon it's also not OP.

Banning the Amby? You could argue spy shouldn't have that ability but honestly if a spy can aim for it, it's kinda the point of the class to get picks.

Big Earner ban? Trades some longevity for a chance at more reward, not exactly a game changer and usually irrelevant but also kinda pointless to ban.

Also if you are in the spirit of banning dumb/pointless weapon why allow any syringe gun at all when the crossbow or stock is going to be the obviously better choice in 99.999% of scenarios?

#136 The Mouse/Mousepad Thread v2 in Hardware
lootlootAny good substitutes for Steelseries QCK Mass mousepad out there?
bump

Idk about exactly what kind of feel you're going for

4+mm thickness cloth mousepads I know
Kingston HyperX Fury 4mm (have one at work seems pretty nice, edges are a bit sharp though)
X-Trac Fat Mat 6.2mm (I personally don't like this companies cloth pads)
Glorious XL Heavy ~6mm (never used/seen one so ymmv)
Razer Firefly Cloth Edition ~4.5mm (quite expensive due to the whole led edging)
Puretrak Talent ~6.3mm (never had one has a large fan base for awhile in pro scenes probably worth looking at)
Zowie G-SR+-SE (HLTV Special Edition) 5mm (never used/seen one so ymmv)
Cooler Master Speed-RX 5mm (never used/seen one so ymmv)
Cooler Master Control-RX 5mm (never used/seen one so ymmv)
Cougar Control Mousepad Series are all 4mm (never used/seen one so ymmv)

KairuComanglia-Coating of the mice in past was awful, now a minor grievance.
Is the complaint here that it wore out quickly or that it was a rubbery coating? Because personally, I prefer the rubbery coating (That no mice use anymore). It definitely wore out quick as hell on the thumb area though.

Both tbh. The feel of Zowie mice if your hands get sweaty is awful, and then they also wear out quickly giving a very weird feel to the edges of the wearing.

#133 The Mouse/Mousepad Thread v2 in Hardware
nyxiidoes any1 have experience with the zowie fk? im thinking about switching to it from the deathadder and i need to know what its like

What's wrong with your DA?

Also a list of the minor grievances I have with Zowie Mice

-Click latency that's 4-10ms worse than competitors
-asymmetrical tracking latency (compared to other mice that is)
-Coating of the mice in past was awful, now a minor grievance.
-Internal parts while are considered good they're typically far enough below excellent to irritate me (kinda like a half-sneeze were you still need to sneeze but can't anymore)
-Scroll wheel is meh (16-step, a significant quantity don't report every step anyway)
-mouse feet wear rather quickly

Things Zowie does well
-Shape/Weight along with the various size options
-Assuming you get one without major scroll wheel issues, and get one without omron switches the overall build design is good.

#14 i32 tf2 grand finals in Videos

lmao back when TF2 was 70fov by default as well. (for anyone unaware TF2 low fov is 75 since ~2013)

omg I cringed so hard when they ubered to get the intel past the sentry, didn't destroy the sentry killed the demo, and then right as uber was fading backup back into the fire of the sentry...

#5 TF2 update for 5/15/17 in TF2 General Discussion
ComangliaEvery time I see "TF2 update" on the side bar I get excited, and then click on it and see maybe 1-2 items added, maybe 1-2 bug fixes, and a localization update. It's been happening for like the last year, why do I still bother getting excited :(

Again QQ

#2 AMD vs Intel + Questions in Hardware

In general Nvidia charges more for their stuff, and have certain quality requirements and testing that end up making there cards cost more. In general Nvidia cards are more consistent between manufacturers, AMD cards not so much.

--- What would be the gain for upgrading the Internal Ethernet Network Card from standard to:
Intel Pro 10/100/1000

Probably not much, most MotherBoards come with 10/100/1000 ports already and for 99% of people buying the motherboard that's good enough. I guess the biggest upside is having a 2nd port if you think 1 of them died. Otherwise unless you're doing something specific you probably won't need it.
