#100 Reaction time in Off Topic
Mukhtar1with g303 144
with abyssus 165

imo ship dash is alot better and less nerve-racking if you get anxious waiting for the green http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sleep/sheep/reaction_version5.swf

the problem with the sheep dash ones is that it you can react to a sheep moving based off the sounds which auditory reaction time is significantly faster than visual reaction time.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4456887/

They measured visual reaction time at around 180-200ms while auditory reaction time is 140-160ms

A study was carried out by Thompson et al.[9] has documented that the mean RT to detect visual stimuli is approximately 180–200 ms, whereas for sound it is around 140–160 ms. Researches by Kemp[10] show that an auditory stimulus takes only 8–10 ms to reach the brain, but on the other hand, a visual stimulus takes 20-40 ms. Therefore, since the auditory stimulus reaches the cortex faster than the visual stimulus, the ART is faster than the VRT.

god damn this is so difficult to grasp, sometimes I have to remember map projections are a thing.

I know... Greenland is absolutely brutal to remember.

#10 The Question in Off Topic

Well, there would be 3 more people dead right now if I didn't exist.

Can't say for alot of other things I did teach 1st aid / cpr / emergency preparedness to 100+ scouts.

And a bunch of nerds would have less FPS in TF2.

As for 20yrs from now I have no idea.

I actually really like that 1st one. It's not that common to see a market gardner be that successful regardless of the opponents skill level.

#9 OLED 120Hz in Hardware
HyceDavidTheWinComangliaViper4K 120Hz. OLED is great and all, but the question still remains: what GPU on Earth could support that with at least semi-playable frame rates?
Most GPUs for TF2 and CSGO on low settings B)

I can run AAA games at close to maxed settings at 60fps with 2 980s, I'd bet I could run some of them close to 120fps at lower settings and Pascal/Polaris should make that even easier.

980TI here, GTA V ultra is ~70 and BF4 is ~100. TF2 ranges from ~160 to ~280 with no cfg... this all on 1080p.

You'd need a beast... or triple SLI 980TI's for 120 FPS 4K.

Not for TF2. CPU is the issue not the GPU. If I remember correctly I had to max out my Anti-Aliasing with super sampling and max out anistropic filtering to become bottlenecked by my GPU which is a R9 390 for TF2 and I was still getting 150+ fps.

-edit-
also like to point out you could always set it to 1440p or 1080p

#1 OLED 120Hz in Hardware

https://pcmonitors.info/dell/dell-up3017q-4k-uhd-oled-monitor/
absolutely insane

OLED
4k
120Hz
0.1ms response time (and that's not cherry picking gray levels either)

$5,000 though but that's WAY cheaper than any other OLED monitor released so far.

#55 Changes for MatchMaking in TF2 General Discussion
GoofyGorillaHonestly it feels like Valve isn't recognizing that the competitive community already has solutions backed by real data to many of the "problems" they feel face them. Some gamemodes don't work for 6s, different round numbers should be assigned to different gamemodes to maintain a time (normally a half hour) that's maintained per half, things that don't pertain to class/weapon locks.

You know valve can't fix those problems unless they collect that data themselves right? For all we know they might be designing new CTF and A/D maps right now meant for 6s (maybe even 3CP).

#20 Darwin's danger shield is a flawed design in TF2 General Discussion
yttriumComangliaFor the topic at hand though this is what I'd like to see a DDS do

+25HP
-80% afterburn duration maybe higher (would make afterburn last about 2s)
-50% explosive knockback

idk making it more of pyro counter/juggling counter makes it a whole lot less toxic but still useful than it currently is.
did you just list no downsides

Name the downsides of the Cozy Camper, Razorback, and Jarate. Other than you don't have an SMG there really isn't any.

#7 NFO routing going to shit from east coast? in TF2 General Discussion

have you guys done any trace routes to a NFO server?

Would be helpful to understand what's going on.

You might be able to contact your ISP and let them know what's going on, where the issue might be them or another upstream provider(s).
