#44 Justice Scalia found dead in Off Topic

Ars Technica has a pretty good writeup on some of his more recent supreme court decisions. Especially those regarding personal privacy.

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2016/02/through-the-ars-lens-looking-at-justice-scalias-opinions-dissents/

with acception to his reaction to gay rights issues what's laid out in the article seemed like a perfectly reasonable person who upheld the rights of the people the majority of the time.

h0b5t3rMost of the Europeans see this very differently as they are almost all socialists, they see Bernie Sanders the way most Americans see Joseph McCarthy.

their's alot of american's who don't realize that the Democratic party of the USA is roughly the equivalent of the Center and/or Right wing parties of basically any other developed nation.

Hillary for example would be a Conservative by Canadian/British/Australian Standards
Bernie would be more of a Labour/Labor party candidate in the UK/Australia/Canada
Most Republicans would fall within {insert nation name} independence party or far right wing outliers in a conservative party

aka anyone who says they socialist in the USA is more like center-left when it comes to Euro, Aussie, and Canadian politics

#26 Help me to choose which mouse I should buy in Hardware
NaxxEwwg400s is amazingIt looks like its heavy, isn't it?

Not anything noticeable compared to a Death Adder.

G400s is a great mouse and I used it forever, recently got a EC2-a after the benq refresh and can say it's a great mouse as well.

Also have a Zowie FK and a g303 and really didn't like either. G303 has possibly the worst shape for a gaming mouse, and the FK had horrible mouse button lag and jittered at 1000Hz. (apparently newer models of the FK/variants don't have the jitter anymore and somewhat better mouse button lag but still quite bad.)

#400 Comanglia's Config / FPS Guide in Customization
Benn_TF2Question, when I use dxlevel 81 in my launch options all is well. But when I switch to dxlevel90 by entering (-dxlevel90) in the launch options, everything is fine but the sniper scope. Whenever I scope in with only the sniper scope, everything becomes much more dimmer (brightness wise) and yellow-y. Anyone experiencing the same problem?

yeah Dx9 is good bit dimmer than Dx8, and the sniper scope does have a bit of a yellow tinge to it. Idk those 2 things are probably the biggest reasons why I've always hated Dx9.

10theCutebeastHow do I have a bullet trajectory? I mean those beams.

I have no clue what you're talking about. the only items with trajectory are projectiles and even then not all of them have trajectory

#3 Displayport vs DVI, Benq vs Asus in Hardware
MaxHaxSo I'm running a 144 hz ASUS: VG248QE monitor as my primary and a 120hz benq XL 2420t as my secondary monitor. I've done some hard searching and found that my ASUS has problems with the display port cable and sure enough I can't get it to work. However the benq uses it fine, so my question is....

Since the ASUS is on DVI and the Benq is on the displayport, which one should I run games on? Is the difference with the displayport cable enough that I should play tf2 and stuff on the Benq or should I keep the Asus as my primary monitor?

Unless you plan on going 1440p or you REALLY want to use the BenQ motion blur options their's no reason to drop 200+ for a benq when you already have the asus.

As for Display Port vs Dual-link DVI
Display port has alot more bandwidth and has some nice features. Their's no added input lag vs DVI. If you want 1440p 144Hz you will have to use Display Port for 1080p 144Hz both work just as well from a gaming perspective.

ENDIt appears valve is removing a lot of the commands in this. My console says that it doesn't know most of the preload commands and today I got a list of commands that it said could only could be used with sv_cheats 1. I guess this part of valve's reducing of customization for matchmaking that B4nny mentioned in his matchmaking stream.

I removed the preload commands about a week ago and no longer have that

Worst present my fiancee ever got though is a single bottle of shampoo from her dad that they went to the store together and bought. (and it's not like her dad was struggling with money at the time either)

#5 Transfering Comp To New Case in Hardware

-hope that your motherboard isn't to big
-Remember to put the back plate in before the motherboard.
-take this time to clean out your fans and heatsinks
-don't forget standoffs
-put the psu in before any other major components and run the cables
-put any case fans in that you may want to add

their's alot of little things that can make it SO much easier when transferring cases
