#14 Darwin's danger shield is a flawed design in TF2 General Discussion

For the topic at hand though this is what I'd like to see a DDS do

+25HP
-80% afterburn duration maybe higher (would make afterburn last about 2s)
-50% explosive knockback

idk making it more of pyro counter/juggling counter makes it a whole lot less toxic but still useful than it currently is.

#10 Darwin's danger shield is a flawed design in TF2 General Discussion
janga7Air_89zombiezThe Darwins is pretty flawed in retrospect yes, but overall its still beat out in usefulness by the cozy camper and the razorbackthe only reason every single sniper doesn't run darwin's full time is that it is banned.
It won't be in MM. EVERY (somewhat intelligent) sniper will run it in MM.

Hi, real sniper main here.
Assuming everything was unbanned for HL I'd run DDS
For 6s I'd run Cozy Camper

that is all.

-edit-
I guess I'll give an actual explanation.
HL is slower paced and your major threats as sniper are Sniper, Spy, Scout/Soldier with the sniper being the main threat making the DDS a no brainer, plus you get more health and more health from packs so even with the extra explosive damage it's not really a downgrade.
6s your main threats are a scout and soldier maybe a sniper but tbh most scenarios a scout or soldier will get you first so having health regen and steady aim makes Cozy Camper a obvious choice.

#98 remedy vac??? (haven't seen any posts about this) in TF2 General Discussion
ComangliaI'm going to assume if remedy was cheating it was more of the "for the lulz" kind of situation, that or he was using cheat engine to hack some other game like dungeon defenders 1/2 (see his recently played) and left cheat engine opened. The only other option I would think of is that he wanted to get vac banned so he would never play again.

lol

Glad to see you got unbanned remedy looking forward to seeing you again on skial badwater sometime.

#33 Deciding on New Mouse in Hardware
lilypondScrewballlilypondintellimouse explorer 3.0 is all you needif you use a 5 in 360 and don't want to play ESEAcitation neededsolaesea bans unsigned drivers which is nessecary for the intellimouse to oc the hz

^what sola said

without using unsigned drivers you have really really shitty max tracking speeds with older mice

125Hz for WMO 1.1a and IME 3 you got about ~1m/s for your max tracking speed
500Hz or 1000Hz for those mice you got about ~1.8m/s for your max tracking speed

for reference https://youtu.be/0vO0IKY-0ig?t=15s
when I'm flicking back and forth their to see where the soldier is I'm moving my mouse around 2.5-3 m/s then again I was using a 20.5in(53cm)/360. I know when I was playing soldier with that sensitivity doing rocket jumps I'd regularly hit 3.5m/s or higher.

using those mice without overclocking them is nigh impossible for anything much slower than a 7in (18cm)
about the only way you could is if you used acceleration at this point and tbh source accel for the most part blows.

Some mice max tracking speeds I know
g400 ~3.8m/s
g400s ~4.5m/s
g303 ~7m/s (might be higher I can't move my mouse much faster than 6m/s without pretty much throwing it)
zowie fk ~3.5m/s
Zowie EC2-a benq ~5.5m/s

measured with a steelseries qck XXL

Deathyya if you're using stats to prove anything you're doing it wrong

I also don't watch B4nny stream that often was curious if anyone has any specifics.

alec_crossfiremtrippawhen I saw this last night I assumed that freestate was getting cut and not corsa

it must be a personality thing and not really a quality of play thing since corsa was playing pretty well from what I saw :()

im sure listening to 3 minutes of their post scrim comms paints a pretty clear picture of whats wrong with the situation
transcript?

corsa why are u ____?
corsa why arent u ____?
"i actually just legitimately thought corsa woulda hit the easiest shot on a medic but he's not doing anything"

are these the logs of corsa "...not doing anything."?

obviously their's nothing specific here but the 1st half looks pretty damn good, and the 2nd half looked alright.

#2 Restricting bandwidth in Q/A Help
SentinelBasically, I've got a 15 Mb/s connection. I'm using an ethernet cable from the router to my PC and my flatmates are using WiFi. Sometimes when they're downloading HD gay gangbang porn or w/e it is that they do, I get ping spikes ingame.

So is there any way to restrict the bandwidth that they can use? Say, 10 Mb/s on the LAN cable and 5 Mb/s on the Wifi.

Depends on the router, but usually you can setup QoS.

Dave_I can't wait to go back to tf2 in 2008
I'll get like 32434242 fps @ mid

TF2 in 2008 had 0 multi-threading support. The game actually ran worse than tf2 just before the tough break update was passed through not so sure how tf2 compares to today but it's reasonable to believe it's just as good or better now.

#53 Valve announces details for matchmaking beta expansion in News
Ewwhttp://steamcommunity.com/groups/tfcompetitive/discussions/0/405692224227187806/

to be fair of any of the class setups Soldier is probably the only class that you could have 7 or 8 (with medic being the remainder 1 or 2) of in a 9v9 format and still have a chance at beating a HL team. For a 6v6 format I'd like to think a balanced team would win, but if I had to pick a class that could win while being over populated I'd slightly lean towards soldier with scout not being that far behind.

It's quite sad that Kevin is willing to pay, or do all/most of the leg work to get these out and he still has only got 7 POVs in the last year, and there hasn't been one in 4 months...

#22 fps cap yes/no? in Q/A Help

I don't use a FPS cap and if I did it would be around 999 to avoid the timing issue.

My notes on my config were a reflection of when ever I tried using FPS caps I felt like I was be inhibited the entire time I was playing. It always happened to me regardless of using a 60Hz IPS or 144Hz TN. Which led to my reasoning that FPS caps should be used either to achieve more consistent temperatures for your CPU (mostly laptops) or to prevent the speed issue at over 1000fps. Honestly I'd rather deal with my variable FPS that's consistently over 220 in HL mid fights with no cap at all than have a 220/250/300 cap that being said some people do prefer a fps cap cause they're basically guaranteed the same experience of input at all times, even if it's technically worse.

BonafideI put my window open at a crack, and turn on the heating around 22c, if I leave the heating on without opening a window once in a while the air will get sooo dry

it's a whole lot easier to boil water and also heat your house... or when you take a hot shower instead of turning on the air vent put a box fan by the door and have it blow through your house/apartment.
