#6 The biggest nerd essay (also quitting lol) in Projects

[*]
your efforts with ETF2L and Essentials, especially what you did for Insomnia this past LAN really have helped keep the scene chugging along. While I might be biased, being personally indebted to you after sitting with me in a hospital ER for 5 hours, the fact that you even did that shit without complaint, and were just worried about your staff (me in this case) shows just how fucking dedicated you have been to improving people's LAN experience. You were always the guy leading team meetings for the most part at LAN, and you were really someone to look up to honestly.

Really hoping that I get to see you next iSeries, after all the shit you went through with me the least I can do is buy you a drink :)

#40 i65 Thank You Thread in TF2 General Discussion

Writing this on the train from BHI to Euston, got time to kill so time to get this done in no particular order. I met probably over one hundred people this weekend, and if I miss anyone I am incredibly sorry, there are so many people I have to give thanks for making this the best LAN of my life and a truely life-changing experience.

Shoutouts to ArchRhythm for executing a broadcast that smacked the ball out of the fucking park, and for looking out for me while help was on the way during my panic attack. Real fucking props man, excellent job.
Shoutouts to Gemm for being genuinely one of my best friends I've made at lan. Spending time hanging out with you was something else. On top of all of that you are honestly such a fantastic observer and you earned the title of lead observer this lan. I can't wait to see you again, mate

Shoutouts to eXtine for having his top 1 yao live at i65, managing to carry my high ass to the NEC mid-panic attack, and being insomnia's staple host and a killer interviewer. Overall Jeff is just such a sweet guy and you were fantastic to meet after years of working with you online.

Shoutouts to kirstysoda for being the backbone of every facet of essentialsTF this event. Organizing people, securing broadcast gear, communicating between broadcast, tourney admin, servers, and talent, and doing some magical work. Your hard work does not go unnoticed and it was a pleasure to come on and work with you.

Shoutouts to DrHappiness for being a fantastic project manager for this event and making sure everyone was in the right place at the right time. You are also an absolute chad and went above and beyond staying for 5 hours at the hospital with me. The appreciation I have for that is unconveyable by words, seriously thanks.

Shoutouts to Duffy for being an absolute lad to chill with during LAN, buying me lots of drinks as 'stretch goals' for my fundraiser, and having really good ideas for lighting, as well as taking initiative and trying to get involved with the event. Hopefully we can see your talents put to use on a big event soon :)

Shoutouts to BiG for being low-key the reason that every single person, player, and ETF staff at the event was taken care of. Running water, getting drinks, smokes, finding people, and just literally anything anyone could think to ask you made it happen. A lot of people didn't see *just* how much shit this man did this LAN for the community outside of bringing some excellent local alcohol (shoutouts to Central NY gang) to the finals aftershow. Really man, you are doing as much for the scene as anyone on the staff and I am humbled to call you a friend.

Shoutouts to everyone on Ascent.NA for being the international team I knew I could count on, you guys played a fantastic tournament and your presence , let alone your fucking amazing tourney run, is the kind of competition that keeps this game at it's top level. Every single one of you were a pleasure to get to talk to at the bar.

Shoutouts to hamaham for blessing me with EU shitposting wisdom and being fucking hilarious the whole LAN through (I'm really glad 'uh oh... stinky!' got used in the finals cast LMAO). Your very supportive style of secondary observing was really neat to see in action and helped improve the broadcast a lot.

Shoutouts to Cyanic for being the miniature hammered energy ball he was all LAN and for being a really cool frag editor :)

Shoutouts to Ma3la for being a cool guy to talk to and a fantastic guest caster/analyst. It was really fun talking about casting days gone by, and it feels good to know that such a good team has been in your hands for so long.

Shoutouts to Plunk to being the craziest man I think I've ever met and just going ham all lan. You were a blast to be around, and you brought the hype to every cast you did.

Shoutouts to Samiface for inviting me over to Wetherspoons Thursday night when I was a bit shy and didn't know many people yet, and just for being one of the most welcoming personalities in the community. Without you I wouldn't be in the position I was to come to LAN or meet dashner, thank you for all you do.

Shoutouts to Birmingham Heartlands hospital for taking a blood sample and then making me wait 4 hours before we realized we weren't going to be seeing a doctor; glad it was only a panic attack bc if it was a heart attack I wouldn't be typing this.

Shoutouts to Dempsey for being the best memer in the tftv news team, for hanging out with essentials all lan, and for being such a nice guy overall.

Shoutouts to Jayflexia and Fill for helping setting up the audio and video mixers respectively, was impressed with your efforts and you guys did an excellent job of being our eyes and ears along with Nano and Twiggy.

Shoutouts to simm for being one of the best mouse/kb freecam observers in the scene, I'm impressed you were able to get so many of the shots that I called while directing on the fly; really excellent job.

Shoutouts to uberchain for being nice to me and for supporting the LAN both as an Ascent and ETF homie.

Shoutouts to the phenomenal lineup of LAN talent we were blessed with this event; you guys really did justice to the excellent games this event.

Shoutouts to raptor for taking me in Monday after my hospital stay caused me to have to reschedule my travel a day later, very fun to just chill back with y'all in the hotel and trade stories about NA/EU lans and seasons prior.

Shoutouts to MiaKitsune & crew for inviting me over to drink and have a good time, you guys were a blast to be with.

Shoutouts to Loris for sharing a name and being such a nice guy to talk to :) appreciated getting to know you better and getting to have some really good conversations. Also your outro video had me in tears for 30 mins, thank you

Shoutouts to all of the prem/invite players I got pictures with/of (will add them when I'm back on my PC/in the pictures thread): Starkie, Raptor, Jay, yight, laz, y'all fuck at tf2 and I appreciate the pics :)

Shoutouts to all of the teams that played in the main bracket; this has been one of if not the closest iSeries to date and you all played your fucking hearts out. Casters and production and viewers would mean nothing without great teams, and from all of the games I got to watch you guys put on fantastic matches and really showed what it means to play proper TF2.

Overall shoutouts to essentialsTF for putting LAN on. The broadcast team was great to work on, the media tram put out kick-ass content, and the LAN team for making sure match schedules ran and servers (once insomnia staff let us have access to them lol) ran well. I am absolutely honored to call myself an ETF staff, and being given an opportunity to in-game direct and vision mix the event that got me into TF2 means more than you will ever know to me.

Once again thank you to anyone in the competitive TF2 community that has either been financially or otherwise supportive of me throughout the years. I was given a truely magical opportunity on the community's good will and it was a blast to in-game direct this event. I hope I was a help in making the broadcast as excellent as the rest of my fantastic peers in Essentials did, and I hope I made my NA production bois proud.

Last but certainly not least thank you to dashner. The fact that you supported me so hard this event despite hardly being in the scene anymore is part of why I love you so much, and I would not be here without you for so many reasons. Back when I first started watching iseries it was your productions that inspired me to become a producer, and getting to even just be associated by name with this event, let alone have an impact, makes me realize why you wanted me to experience this. Thank you, Alex.

This has been one of the best experiences of my life and I'm so grateful and happy for it. Love you all to bits, godspeed on your journeys home.

#12 i65 Thank You Thread in TF2 General Discussion

I'll be making a proper list of people I need to properly thank, but thanks first and foremost once again to the generosity of the competitive TF2 community. Without you guys I wouldn't have been able to do my part for the LAN and I wouldn't have had this life changing experience. I thought this would be my last hurrah but it's just the start. God bless you all
