I'll never fucking forget this ever, this is solely responsible for me getting into competitive Team Fortress 2 in the first place. I can pretty much remember this entire event off the top of my head, right down to Move saying in chat "Are you kidding me Fred?" and Fred replying "Does it look like I'm wearing a clown suit?"
Excellent times, the comp. players were all cool, I only wish we managed to get it put onto YouTube before the demos broke cause the demo system was god awful back then.
Try fiddling with upgrading (if out of date) or possibly even downgrading drivers a version, nvidia gpu drivers have been pretty whack with Source engine (at least tf2's older branch) for awhile now and so far all the people that I know of reporting the issue are on nvidia gpus which makes me think it isn't a typical temperature issue (although you should still make sure your CPU or GPU are not overheating and see what your CPU usage is like during these spikes and could also make sure your RAM is fine). i'll assume this isn't a motherboard issue either unless this happens in other games for you
e:
also considering the recent plethora of posts i've seen on this issue, it's much more likely a driver issue since these all started to prop up very recently.
multiple people are saying they have this issue elsewhere too
is your gpu nvidia by any chance
#11 ye the "update" actually is just CS:GO at launch I believe.
miss that simpler titlescreen though
HueyLewisdownpourcant do anything cool glad i took today off
what do you even have to take off from
*legitimate i haven't talked to you in forever, buddy.
he has to take off from watching so much anime sometimes
duh
speaking of since steam is down i'll watch that anime with u later tonight dp, but prolly only one episode
not even close to an expert on Demoman or anything but the loose cannon excels at mid ranges and viaduct is a pretty mid rangey kind of map. it's probably a lot easier to land double donks on it since you don't need to have the timing down as much to land them. plus the knockback really messes with people and it's a lot easier to just delay people getting to the point with it i imagine.
#24 that's what he is saying, that the team made of invite sandbaggers might win and then none of that money goes to anyone which he thinks is lame because that was an incentive for people to join and try to play
im going to have fun even if we lose every game
scout is fun
Changing the GPU shouldn't affect too much because TF2 is pretty much entirely CPU based. Unlike something like CS:GO or even DotA, TF2 barely uses your GPU for anything.
e:
That said, if you are already running at DirectX then that's really weird, your CPU is more than good enough...
cool can't wait.
haven't played esea in 8 seasons.
Thanks for writing this, it is as well done as always.
Grenjabob sucks. Oodles is way better than him.
))))))))))))))
Yeah it works for me too. This is like the reason it's so hard to fix probably - the demos only crash for very specific people with seemingly very little in common.
You should submit this to Valve for sure to help fix it, it's been happening since the Halloween 2013 update.
This has been happening for a couple of months now. It seems really random - specific demos with specific people. It sucks.
