Ok after investigation, con_filter_enable 2 highlights the filtered text rather than removing it.
con_filter_text follows the setting from con_filter_enable, the text you set will either be removed or highlighted but con_filter_text_out will always be removed.
That gives two filters at least.

Had a quick google, doesn't seem to work. Although you can set con_filter_enable to 2, not sure what it changes though

Fightmasterbig thanks for pointing this out, I've been having the console spam messages about being unable to set particles every time I fired a hitscan weapon

I just want to point out to those with a large variety of console error messages it will only use the last posted console text filter, so only one of them is going to work at a time
hooliwait you can have cvars set to multiple variables? how does that work?

Oh crap, forgot about that. Ah well.

Not sure if this is a commonly known feature, but these are the filters I've found to really reduce the amount of generally useless spam the source engine throws in the console. Feel free to add to this if you notice some spam this doesn't cover.

Edit: yeah this goes in the autoexec

Haven't personally seen it cause frame rate lag, it's just bs source spams out because the game isn't perfect. You can add this to your autoexec to filter out a bunch of other bs spam

That's not a full list, just the few things I've found to reduce the spam in the console

AlfieHave the rules been updated? It says it will use the latest ETF2L configs but the rules below state otherwise.

Gamemode for 6v6 competitions is Medic Limit 1, Heavy Limit 1, Demoman Limit 1 and Limit 2 for other classes.
Allowed Weapons are as follows:
All standard weapons are allowed.
Allowed unlocks: Blutsauger, Kritzkrieg, Übersaw, Crusader’s Crossbow, Overdose, Gunboats, Boston Basher, Escape Plan, Pain Train.
NB. These rules are preliminary and are likely to change as the event nears.

Their page is manually updated so they probably haven't got around to it yet

Mechanical is worth it though, imho.

Talked to Bluee outside of this thread, given him a more balanced build albeit with an £1,100 budget. Needs OpenCL so AMD would be better than NVidia for that, but it's on lots of proprietary software on Linux that's only been tested with NVidia.
