#84 Is in-game shit talk a good or a bad thing? in Off Topic

One thing I want to point out is that some players are REALLY easy to be manipulated by comments, "shit-talking", binds and I have even played versus/with a few people who go crazy after you taunt them once (I am talking about officials not casual pugs or doublemixes...etc).

If people are going to get so bothered by such a thing, they should not be surprised people will do it to them if they are likely to react and break their concentration. One example of note is the ETF2L NC tournament where Sweden were purposely taunting one of our players because they knew he would play worse if you did that to him.

There is a line you should not cross, but there are also mind games and if people aren't strong enough mentally to deal with this, they should expect a worse performance.

#51 we need to talk in TF2 General Discussion
-protoHildreth-protowe're giving them what they want by making these threads. there's nothing we can do about it aside from simple personal precautions. these people are children who get neglected by their parents and all they want is for people to pay attention to them...
"Ignore them and they will go away".

Yeah great advice...(!)

Best we can do is to continue and try our best...I remember it was really bad a few years ago then stopped...in the run up to i55 seems someone has an anti comp tf2 agenda. Whoever it is, they will get bored eventually and fuck off somewhere else, we just got to keep trying. Certainly it is AN ISSUE and it isn't one we should ignore and we should always keep trying. It's worth it.
I'm not saying to ignore it and it will go away I'm saying these threads are making the problem worse. We're giving the ddosers the attention and outcry that they are desperately looking for. Read my friend.

Unless you have a degree in Psychology or you know the perpetrator personality and have a deep seeded understanding of their mental state, I struggle to believe this can actually be proven as the motivation in any way.

#66 Loose Cannon in TF2 General Discussion

I don't use Loose Cannon or like the weapon but I am against banning it, think about MM, think Valve want to support competitive in any way if we keep banning their weapons? It's slightly irritating to play against but less so than playing vs Pyro's or Engineers with Wranger sentries/Mini sentries...

Stop banning stuff, embrace it then you'll learn the little details about the weapon it took us years (You ever see soldiers rocket jump like they do today 5 years ago?) and become better against it.

#56 evlTV's Response to Sigafoo and the Grand Finals in TF2 General Discussion

Worst part about it is it's TF2, I get why you want quality casters but get your best people in. Everyone does a bit of play by play casting, it isn't a problem, I don't mind listening to it. It's much more interesting than trying to get someone who knows fuck all about how to play the game at a High level in try to analyse the game. I don't have the sort of casting style to do Play by play but if I cast for Blackout or TF.TV (When Admirable let's his guard down) I will do it if necessary, very few people will complain.

Thing I don't get is why EVL feel it necessary to totally fuck someone over for some outdated notion there needs to be a "play-by-play" caster and an analytical caster. Listen to Admirable/Sideshow cast, they both cover each area, there is literally no reason to be so obsessed with this notion. It won't affect viewer numbers or casting quality, this is based on years of casting experience and watching casts. What will affect casting quality and/or numbers is getting a bad caster, considering Sigafoo is one of the best for HL, you should not be discouraging him. Really poor choice tbh, easily avoidable with some common sense.

#29 Sigafoo leaving EVL TV in TF2 General Discussion

I enjoy casting with sigafoo very much, incredibly smart guy with a lot of good opinions and it is always interesting talking with him about the game.

I'd put him with Gecks, fuck the "styles not meshing", get your two best casters and get them on the final...for i55 I am sure they will have their two best casters on the stage so why not for these finals?

#4 UGC Highlander NA Season 16 Grand Finals in News

I said it before and I will say it again, if KnD win this final they become the best HL team in this game, surpassing all the other previous great teams. Winning three seasons in a row especially considering how competitive the scene currently is, you cannot underestimate such an achievement. Better than SNSD, better than The Syndicate, better than Ginyu Force. Fact they are so good is down to their heart and desire to win, their leader being the most influential captain since Linus. I seen a lot of teams lose the will to win after one season, so to see them still keeping it is a blessing.

Of course mTs won't be pushovers, unless I am gravely in error, they have played in 5 finals already, and Harbleu isn't one to accept a 1-5 win ratio, it will be a good final.

#179 Do froyotech care? in TF2 General Discussion
Knuckles_I understand froyo handled this poorly, but lets take a look at what started this whole thing off: Davidthewin. You handled this very immaturely. I know that this may have caused you some personal strife, rustled your jimmies a little bit, but This is the worst way to address a team for not showing for an event. Clearly at no point before you made this did you talk to anyone on froyo, because if you did you wouldn't say:
DavidTheWinThey were invited to GGG months ago and can't manage to pull together even the most aids mix like all the euros. Didn't even bother waking up, apart from b4nny (west coast, arguably fucked most by the timing) and duwatna (who was working). They said they would attend but only told us on the day that they wouldn't be attending.
That is misinformed and outright wrong. How can you say with such confidence that they slept in when you don't even bother asking any of them. I hope you realize you are ALMOST as aids as froyo for making this post based off no factual evidence.

If you're the KevisIsPwn of EU then Kevin is no longer pwn.

Dude David carried this event through and worked so hard on production, he deserves a lot more respect. He's just a bit frustrated it wasn't as great as we all wanted it to be as it was only 7 teams. I think he has earned the right to voice his opinion. Try showing a bit more respect to someone who has worked really hard to put on a good show for us today.

#166 Do froyotech care? in TF2 General Discussion

I get why David is a bit annoyed, he put so much effort today streaming and organising, making it work to the best of his ability despite all the issues.

Still seems like an unnecessary Froyotech witch hunt - what is the lesson for today? Better communication between teams and production.

Think b4nny's post summed it up, I am not interested in a Froyotech witch hunt, more interested in i55 and to see everyone play. I mean we could go on about it and speculate or demand an apology, but it doesn't make a difference, what is done is done.

#8 So I went onto UGC today...... in TF2 General Discussion

I am 99% sure this a troll since my experience of Axiomatic is that he has always been a shittalking retard who is a toxic influence on the community.

If it isn't a troll this kid needs help.

Also making hackusations against people like Max are quite serious, if he wants to spread unsubstantiated rumours about people he better be prepared for a backlash.
